we can, but if you think through the issue there are more factors that are relevant
as with other adult content on the internet, it is trivially easy for someone younger than 18 to check that box off. so ultimately the way to properly do it would be for us to ask players to submit identification (including minors), and that's a course of action we aren't ready to do
we also can't, as a rule, just take every player's word that any other player is under or over 18. beyond players just making accusations of one another in bad faith, there's really no reliable measure here. we aren't going to restrict a player's ability to play because someone thought their voice was high pitched, for example
Hopefully, some of this can shed some light as to why we wouldn't just set a checkbox
I'm sure if you did that you couldn't operate in many countries.
