And you dont have a auto save before that point?
To be perfectly honest, content seems light. I could be wrong given how obtuse these games tend to be. Once you finish the game, your save file is marked as "cleared" and when you load it you are right outside the final boss room and the final main quest remains perpetually active. I warped away rather than fighting the last boss again as I assumed I would simply end the game again if I fought him.
I cleared every beast hunt quest I came across as I played and even beat a few of them two or three times. I cleared the final boss and finished the game at a little over 33 hours. My memory might be off but content seems slim compared to realization or lycoris.
Realization and Lycoris were both the same way at launch also. Id expect we get raids and stuff at a later date. But I do agree its pretty short and nothing really to do post game. I myself went back to Lycoris for now lol.
To unlock the ultimate skill for each weapon class you need to collect 300(!!!!) vessels of strength from beast hunts. (The same resource you need 3 of to unlock awakening for each weapon type in that underground area, and yes they are weapon type exclusive.) The most I've seen drop from a single hunt is 3, though most drop 1 if memory serves. So, to unlock one capstone skill you would need to do 100 hunt quests that award 3 vessels each at minimum. I think unlocking a single ultimate skill would take much longer than beating the game.
tldr: Post game is there, but consists entirely of very, very lengthy grinding for rewards that you would then use to grind the same content.
Seriously whoever designed the weapons and armor in this game needs to be fired, or at least forced to play an actual RPG so they know how proper gear progression works.
At this point I might just grind to 40 and try again later.
Do you really fight with the starter equipment? What are your def / atk and str / vit stats?
For armor you can kill the first spider boss on the first map. This armor has way higher stats than the starter equipment.
Difficulty: Story
Dmg: 419
Atk: 400
Def: 454
Str: 546
Vit: 489
Dex: 474
Agi: 456
Main: Firekiller Dragon Blade
Secondary: Mirage Blade of Inferno
And yes, I do have the armor from the spider boss, but again, that's the first friggin zone. That's totally starter gear.
Party Wise, it goes downhill from there:
Alice - Dmg 315
Asuna - 538 (Servicable)
Eugeo - 297
etc
The only party members with damage over 600 are Sinon, Dorothy, and Yuuki, again because there's been zero gear better than what they have to begin with.
2) make your "alliance" member to a "healer": In tactical arts customize one panel with 3 x Bles of paradise. Activate this in battle, if your party will be on low health and you have a burst heal with 4 sec cooldown.
3) get better gear from (field) bosses, especially weapons (the starter weapons are bad compared to the "end game" one). That are my kirito stats
dmg 442
atk 472
def 421
str 530
vit 539
dex 496
agi 539
my kirito has 50 more vit. vit seems to reduce the dmg you get. 50 points seems small, but are a lot. For your attacke focus to increase the "atk" stat. 20 Points are already a huge increase.
4) dont use buff, that debuff your deff, if you dont know, what you are doing. def is an important stat and losing 20+ because you use a buff is already huge and can make your party to paper.
5) If you dont have already done it: customize one panel from "alliance" member with all good buffs and use it. Buffs are very powerfull.
I already killed a rank 40 boss (my ranks are 31/32), to upgrade my gear to end game, but i have already collected some good weapons from field bosses (like better weapons and gear that doubles some stats from like 10 to 20), so there is gear progression, but you need to know what to do.
frankly my own advice is : unless you like grinding for life without any cheating, dont bother with post game if you care about your mental health because this is trash, boring and frustrating
if you have a friend or two with you, then why not but otherwise i dont recommend it at all, there is no point to farm this endgame when no future dlc will give new area, unlock level above 60 etc...
nothing except some "labyrinth dungeon" who is most likely not worth it at all if we simply check the "quality" of the dlcs from lycoris
