How the ♥♥♥♥ does one catch the sunfish and moonfish aberations?

The moon and sunfish are so fking rare, i somehow caught both moonfish aberations after like 5 hours or something but im still missing one of the sunfish versions

Why are the base versions of these so rare? I am literally only moving around while watching youtube

Edit: I have caught only caught 27 of them in so many hours and even then that should have been enough. Other fishes i've caught the aberations for within 10, excluding the cod which also took like 30 something catches. wtf

There is an ability in the game that almost guarantees an aberration from any fishing spot; have you tried experimenting with your abilities?

Atrophy, yeah. The fishing spot can still come back, just MUCH slower. Its no biggie when finishing up the catches though. Plenty of Moon and Sunfish. I found plenty of Sunfish in the ocean waters between Stellar Bay and the Mangrove swamp area.

You can also use it in conjunction with bait. Make a spot then destroy it. Not as reliable as targeting a static spawn point, but it will get you aberrations for that region.
