Crashing during gameplay
So I just got the game when it was on sale, was working well, then it started crashing during the campaign and I didn't know why. Today I was playing and noticed this spore mine approaching one of my units. Right when it got to me and I'd assume it'd explode, it crashed. Was it the spore mine causing the crash? What could cause this- a missing animation or something?

Having this same problem in the co-op campaign now.

We'll randomly be playing a mission when DoW 2 will completely freeze and the screen turns black. It's impossible to continue the game from this point, and I can't even regain control of my computer using Ctrl-Alt-Delete because DoW still has control over the cursor and I can't click anything on the desktop, not even the Task Manager screen. So the only way to actually regain control of my computer is to either sign out or restart.

This is INCREDIBLY ANNOYING and has caused us to lose multiple missions through no fault of our own.

I tried ilsarmng's fix, it didn't work. Some help would really be appreciated, Sega.

Edit: I can in fact confirm it's doing this with one very specific mission: the Eldar defense mission on Tyhpon Primaris at the end of the game. Crashes on the third wave every. Single. Time.

I'm this guy's co-op partner. I'm not even having this problem, he is, and it's causing us to randomly lose deployments. Whenever his game crashes, I gain control of his units for about 40 seconds, and then the game kicks me out due to "A sign-in change has occurred" and we lose the entire deployment.

This is an absolutely ridiculous bug.
@ilsarmg the performance drop only happened after i set the affinity prior to that never had any performance issue, max settings.

@Arcterran I use the GeForce Experience software and my driver is as update as it can be, i don't use beta drivers

@CtrlAltDestroy I never play mulitplayer and i get the "A sign-in change has occurred" it must be some residue from GFWL

This is a problem that didn't happen at Xmas but is happening now, something has been updated and is causing a problem

We're still getting this in Chaos Rising, too. Except this time both clients are just freezing outright.

Since few Weeks, DoW2 crashing every time, when the Intro starts. I don't why.
@Khrysophylax I had it happen in all three version of the game

Are you guys running on Windows 8/8.1, too? This is only happening on my new gaming rig with Win8 (and now in single player too); my old Windows 7 laptop can run the game just fine without any crashes whatsoever.

It's too bad... it seems like Sega has mostly abandoned DoW 2 these days. I remember when they first acquired the franchise there was a flurry of dev activity, and a few of the devs even helped me diagnose a really annoying obscure crashing issue here on the Steam forums. Now there's nothing but silence.

Yes, this problem only on Win 8.
Yep I've got Windows Hate.1

I only use it casue i paid for it, NEVER again will Microsoft get my money. SteamOS is the future of Gaming Rigs and Tablets are the current/future of browsing And Microsoft will be stuck with businesses And we all know how businesses just love to update software. Where i work we still have a PC that runs Windows 3.1 for workgroups!!!!

Sorry I don't have any love for Microsoft and this is the wrong place to spout it. back to the problem.

This problem is new, i was playing fine all over Xmas. I was off work with an injury and thought i'd play a Retribution campaing with a race I've not used before (Imperial Guard). A couple hours in was the first crash to desk top, with an error report programme ready and waiting, which i sent.

This happened a few more times then i got the "A Sign In Change Has Occurred" error and was back to main menu. I was playing solo in the campaign.

I gave up with Retribution and went to play the original DoW2 campaign and the same crashes happened and during Chaos Rising campaign

I've been getting the "Sign in Change Has Occured" on Win 7 Pro 64bit. Before recently, I've got over 100 hours in (my steam account lies), and I've never had this problem until recently. This has all been on the same system.
Ah! Still not fixed then, Oh well i was thinking about having another go but I'll wait a bit longer. They are great games and it's worth hanging around Relic/Sega have been very good at keeping the older Warhammer games running. I replayed Dawn Of War Winter Assault 3 weeks ago and that played flawlessly

Yeah I'd been playing last stand, as that crashes less for me, and I was hoping that maybe the recent updates might have fixed the issues, but I guess not. :( Yeah the older games are awesome, I still play those frequently! Never an issue with those <3

This happened once or twice before, but now it is consistant. I am posting this on 4/27/2016. This is keeping me from playing through the game. I can't complete a mission without getting kicked out of the game with the sign in change occured message. This is seriously annoying, and I know it has to either be steam sucking as per usual or the new system in place now that games for windows live no longer exists for this game. Not like GFWL was any good anyway, but now this error is just annoying. I am ganna end up pirating a game that I freakin paid for so I can get lan support, something that should have been in this game from the beginning. I gave you my money steam and relic, I am now going to download a copy that I can play without all of this bull. I am so sick of these issues with games now. The alway online crap is terrible when the services you use for the manditory always online crap doesn't even work right. It goes down more than a fat ♥♥♥♥♥ on friday night putting her face in a huge cake. Of course the only solutions I get are ones involving my internet being at fault or something equally as useless.
