Log pile East of the House?

Is it just me or does the game confused East and West. The sun clearly rises from behind the house where the Barn is but I spent half an hour looking for the Log pile around that area since it said East only to later figure out it's at the oposite side of the house.

Just a note I didn't use the compass that comes with a Map items, I just went with where the sun rises/sets.

My first thought was to use the sun but I don't actually remember consistently where its meant to rise or fall. It would be really, really cool to immerse in the whole living out in the middle of nowhere thing if I could use the sun accurately to navigate, though. But I ended up using the map when I couldn't easily find this logpile within a few minutes, and it didnt take too long to find it after.

Yeah, same for me. I went following the sun and got completely lost, I guess it's a typo in the to-list.

Wish I did that. I actually didn't find the map until my 2nd playthrough of the Demo lol Q.Q

Thank you, I had the exact same problem. Silly me thought the sun rose in the east.

OP was answering this on reddit, they simply confused the sun cycle it was just an error

I made the same mistake and started going out toward the barn until I remember about the map/compass and realized it was the other way. The sun is rising from the West but the thought occurred to me that maybe that was part of the psychosis that poor Garrett is experiencing while being alone.

for those tryinig to find the log pile like i was, follow the road away from the house that leads to the locked gate at one end and the flatbed trailer at the other. somewhere along there is a set of log piles on either side of the road, the cans you need to shoot are on one side.
