They rushed this out of the door without basic functionality and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of issues. Never mind the fact that they removed genuine content and features (traps) from the game because they're incapable of balancing them.
I refunded this mere days after its release because it was obvious that it would lead to this conclusion.
I highly doubt that they have made enough sales to warrant any significant patches in the future.
Let me know when they have figured out how to add keybinds to a PC game.
I didn't need any more reasons than the fact that i can't rebind my keys.
All the other issues were just adding insult to injury. From no preference selection for matchmaking to a barebones lobby system where you can't even change your loadout.
Bugs? How about challenges? I don't even need to ask. That ♥♥♥♥'s is bound to still be bugged. The majority of them. Voice chat that doesn't work half of the time. I shouldn't be forced to disable other audio devices in Windows' device manager just to get the VOIP working. Simple ♥♥♥♥ like audio input/output options would have easily resolved this.
Those are just my personal gripes. I didn't stick around long enough nor did i care to discover every bug in this obviously rushed product.
Feel free to read the negative reviews or give the search function a whirl if you're that curios.
Back in the day it was just a couple of sports and shooters (COD & Battlefield and FIFA & NBA 2K respectively). There were also fighting games as well.
Now everything is a multiplayer game / live-service title and too many to hop between unlike before. Doesn't help that there's other well defined games in the same genre for this title.
I also don't know why this game launched right before DbD's anniversary event. Everyone is busy farming that and gaining the cosmetics. A better time to launch would have been mid to late July when people have DbD fatigue. Like it or not, DbD players are going to be the primary audience in this genre.
The other issue is Killer Klowns is not an IP that has a huge fandom like F13 and TCM. Those games got carried much further than they would have otherwise due to the IP. No matter how horrible or barren those games get/got, there's always a handful of players willing to stick around and play 24/7 because it's their favorite IP. That's a big reason why DbD experiences exceptional growth each year. They got almost any horror IP you could want.
The game is just unbalanced, and it used to be worse. The popcorn bazooka and bounce caster were so ridiculous that they could easily make any bully squad in this game roll over. However, when they nerfed those they should have nerfed the humans as well. This game turned into a beat em up rather quickly.
Personally, I quit playing the moment people started to discover places where they either couldn't be hit or are generally safe. People that abuse exploits like that are what kills these games.
if you're talking about the roof of the cabin in the woods map, that was never protected, you could always shoot up there with the charge-up blast raygun. got a bunch of "free" cocoons that way, with people often too stubborn leave, even after they take the first shot.
it's not any singular bug its that there are far too many bugs.
also core features like archetypes didnt work.
also, devs are terrible at communicating.
again, with the exception of glitching into things, which is not the same issue.
Now, after seeing a decline in players even worse than my expectations, I probably won't touch this unless it is free on Epic at some point.
