This isn't a bad game but everything it does, Severed Steel does much better.

This game was incredibly fun from start to finish, with very frenetic combat and an intuitive wall-running mechanic that never became dull.

It is, however, short.

It took me just over 5 hours to beat the three episodes in the game, and it left me wanting *much* more. There are horde and time trial modes, but those never 'scratch the itch' in the way story mode does.

Still, it's a worthwhile game that slowly but steadily ramps up the difficulty in a way that by the final fight, you'd have had no idea you could take on so many powerful enemies at the beginning of your journey. I recommend it for any fans of boomer shooters.

A brief but very enjoyable movement based boomer shooter. It has a super slick cyberpunk aesthetic and there are a lot of cool levels that showcase the dystopian architecture. I've seen some people say that the movement can be finnicky, but it never got bad enough to ruin the game for me. As a matter of fact, the movement is empowering; running on a wall while gunning robots and cyborgs down feels like the super cool early 2000s Matrix FPS we never got.

The pace is lightning fast, even with the slow down ability, which is well implemented. Basically the game encourages a hyper aggressive playstyle because the more you kill enemies the more adrenaline you get back. Only real complaints I have are that certain weapons feel less useful than others; the way to get a small health, ammo, and adrenaline replenishment is by killing an enemy via their weak point, but something like the SMGs makes it too easy to accidentally kill an enemy before being able to melee finish them to get resources back. Meanwhile, with the shotgun, every kill gives you resources no matter where you hit an enemy with it. Still, the arsenal is fun to use, and the game does a great job of encouraging you to use every weapon you have in your arsenal by the end, where the combat becomes you vs small armies.

Overall Sprawl is a super cool boomer shooter the places just as much emphasis on acrobatics as it does the shooting action, and the ability to toggle slow motion means the game never stops its relentlessly fast pace.
