GTA SA Definitive Edition Won't load. UE4 Fatal Error
Does anyone have a fix for this?
I recently bought the trilogy and was going to start with SA.
However, everytime I load the game and the Rockstar logo starts the game crashes and a pop-up with UE4 fatal error pops up and the game closes.

I deleted the .dat files for cliud saving. re-launched and was asked again if I wanted to enable cloud saving. chose "not right now" since I was informed that was a potential issue.
Uninstalled both the game and rockstar launcher, nothing.

I don't know what to do at this point.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I haven't even been able to start a new game to even play it once.

Also, checked my graphic drivers and they are all updated.

That's Rockstar: Replace classic PC games with crappy mobile versions, and then continue breaking them and making them worse over...and over...and over... and over...

And people actually think GTA6 will be good lol

I found a little workaround that works for this on my end. You need to add a launch option -

%command% -dx12

In steam - Launch Options field under Settings (Gear Icon on the game page) >> Properties >> General

Don't work for me.

What system are you playing the game on? Steamdeck or PC?

Have you installed any mods? If so, try deleting or renaming the mods folder. That worked for me.

dx12 didn't work for me. HOWEVER! I did fix it where I get passed the loading screen without seeing an error now!

I uninstalled both the game and rockstar launcher. Went into my computer and found any folder where the rockstar launcher was and deleted it.

I reinstalled the game and and did the following steps before trying to launch.

Before opening I went to my computer -> program files (x86) -> steam -> steamapps -> common -> GTA san andres -> PlayGTASanAndreas (application file)

Here I right clicked the aplication and on compatability. Made sure full screen optimization was unchecked. then checked run as admin. closed.

launched game and re-downloaded the launcher after launching the game from steam, disabled cloud saving when it pops up in the launcher (Thats been a known error).
The game doesnt load.
So go back in to the file and uncheck run as admin and apply this time. leaving full screen optimization still unchecked.

Then I launched it and it got passed the loading screen! and I was able to start a game.
I havent had the time to play it yet and see if it crashed WHILE playing the game BUT it fixed the loading screen crash!

I hope this works for you all too!

P.S. - I also made sure my drivers were up to date prior to doing any of those steps after uninstalling the game and deleting anything related to rockstar and GTA SA. Which they already were, but I did do that first

I just delete my "mods" files and it worked.

What worked for me is a complete uninstall of the game and rockstar launcher. Cloud saves worked again.
