This remaster is terrible
I have zero clue how anyone here thinks it's good, other than plain copium and buyer's remorse for wasting money on this garbage. Either you have no point of reference, or, most likely, you have no respect for artistic integrity whatsoever.

I say this as someone who has 250 hours in the original game. Yes, the PC version was pretty bad, but it also did not butcher the original as badly as this horrible release. If you enjoy playing it, fine, but I hope you realize that's in spite of how much they ruined it, not because any of the "improvements" are actually any good.

I like how Dancing is easier to win on the Definitive Edition.

You don't even own this game. Why are you here?

There are some improvements, like driving physics seem better, but the use of weapons is still very awkward. The graphics also seem quite outdated for a 'remaster'. I am disappointed in the character models, but I realize this is a 20 year old game and there is only so much 'remastering' that can be done without a complete remake (like FF VII).

I don't mind paying for the trilogy either since I never paid for the original games. Go ahead, blast away, but I can afford things a little more now than I could 20 years ago.

The game is still fun as hell, even with the retro feel. I think it was worth the money I spent.

You *also* don't own this game. Why are you here?

What does it matter? What would it change about anything? It doesn't take a full playthrough or rocket scientist to see how genuinely inferior this game is to the original.

And for the record, I DID play Definitive (just not on Steam) and hated it as much as I thought I would.

Inferior to the original? I don't think I would go that far. So far I think it's very similar to the original. They're essentially the same game in my opinion.

It has a lot more bugs, removed/ruined features and graphical downgrades compared to the original. This "Definitive Edition" is based on the equally terrible 2013 mobile port from the same developer, which also removed features and made the game look worse.

There's nothing objective when comparing patched one vs unpatched another.
Compare unpatched one vs unpatched another.

why arent they updating this game? im sure theres more to fix, considering the devs who made this game aren't very bright.

Any dev working on this game isn't working on GTA6.

This is a twenty year old property. Should Nintendo go back and release update patches for Super Mario Sunshine? Is Epic pushing out patches for Unreal Tournament 1999 still? Are we getting huge QOL patches for the Command and Conquer series just released on Steam a week or two ago?

Yes, it's not the best edition ever. But it is what it is.

Just go away then. I enjoy it and dont regret buying it. You dont like it? cool, good for you, thankyou for giving us your opinion that no-one asked for. Go play a game you do like rather than hanging around the discussion area for a game you dont even own.

I like how they fixed Dancing in the remaster. I always had trouble with dancing on the original but now It's nearly impossible to lose.
