Second hand retail bargains. The Trilogy in retail, is the best iteration of those games, without censorship (vice city) or content removed (songs). San Andreas only needs downgrading to 1.0 or the Jolly Rogered 1.0 Usa version.

The collective posters also, are top notch. As are the colorful game manuals!

I brought my version well over a decade and a half a ago. it's sitting there in the jewelled case waiting to be installed and played again.

I'm gonna have to get an old computer with windows 7 running in offline mode, but that's a simple matter as i have those components around to build the computer and install what i need from there. it would also be beneficial for other games i have discs for that can be installed and played that won't work on more modern hardware.

I just went to ebay to buy the ps2 versions again, early print - no platinum or blue usk logo, so I have all music and can toggle german version to be uncut. Except for san andreas for there I have to look up a pegi version to get the fully uncut.

Ah yes, the old "it doesn't concern me, so it's not an issue" argument. Classic. Just because many people bought the original games for lower prices in the past (not that they were ever low, to be honest - most games this old on Steam are far cheaper) doesn't mean there aren't still lots of people who would want to buy the games now or in the future. You do realise, for example, that younger people exist, right? They might want to buy the games too and might not even have been born yet when they were new. And anyway, why would you ever defend a company raising the price of a product for no reason? Like, in what way could that ever be considered a positive change from the consumer's perspective? I can see you've posted a negative review for one of the "Definitive" games yourself, so it really looks like you're just being a contrarian for the sake of feeling special.

15 years ago i brought this game for £3, brand new as well. The disc i got is still near perfect quality, the same with the jewelled case and all the flashy GTA SA paper covering it, compared to today on a DRM store where it costs £55. Even when it went on it's introductory sale it still costs significantly more.

If wanted a more modern GTA game i'd play GTA V (non-multiplayer) and wait for GTA VI when it comes in a few years. it beats the hell out of those terrible port/"remaster" games that is being offered. If i wanted to play an older GTA game, then i have GTA SA on discs. I just finished playing SR2 almost a week ago, it really felt like the original GTA SA in a lot of ways.
