You get it from the fourth magic school which you unlock after doing the previous three.

I guess it depends on the choices you make there, because I fully completed it and it did not unlock for me.

it should not, if you choose the genius school in magic city and complete every dialouge it should unlock
if you reincarnate to early, you will miss it, that is true but you cant lock yourself out of it if you cleared everything afaik

I had already chosen an ending, perhaps that influenced it? I reincarnated to try again, see if I can unlock it this time.

that shouldnt matter, ending is just nessecary for reincarnation

did you finish every conversation after the 3. dungeon?
you need to talk to all the schools and research the tablet parts from them, then continue some more until you unlock alchemy

Yes, I did everything. There was nothing left to do. I collected all the research and gave it to them, took me a few days. I also spoke to the other guy and gave him all the steel statues he wanted. I also gave all the blueberry pies to Fili(?) before continueing with the Golem.
Honestly I had expected it to unlock after that as well, it just felt naturaly at that point, but nothing unlocked.

I got the Anti Magic Wand. That's it. Can't remember if I finished Genius School. I have no clue what I could have done different, but I'll be sure to make a backup save before starting on the Magic City this time.

In short, what I did:
- Chose the Dark Ritual bonus at the witch where you have to make blue berry pies.
- did everything with the clumsy lady
- helped out the leaders of each school with research and steel statues
- did all the magic stone upgrades
- gave fili all the pies before continueing the story, else it would be locked
- defeated all dungeons
- bought all the new Akashic Records upgrades
- bought all the new Astral upgrades

the first 3 times with the different avaiable schools(classic, theoretical and practical), that unlocks the three new equipments

after doing that a new school becomes avaiable, the genius school, finishing that school unlocks alchemy

Yes, I get that now. I'm just at a loss on how I could have possibly missed those schools in the first place. Seems like they are unmissable from what I read. I'll let you know when I find out. Almost at dragon Village, so hopefully this weekend I'll be there again.

Turns out I'm an idiot and did one of the schools twice. Mystery solved :)

What do i have to do to finish the genius school?
I did pick it and killed the golem and reported back to academic city, but i didnt got alchemy in Akashi Records.

you dont get it in akashic records, you get it in routine, above gluttony

after you killed the golem and reported achievment, you get some more dialog with the different headmasters, after you finish that, you unlock alchemy
