Fate grind slog in Magic City

Hi, All.
Not a very old player, currently just finished Dragon Village and trying to progress through Magic City. Except that I can't really do that; every bit of progress costs Fate, which I can grind for about 150k Destiny apiece (50 sec * 3k Destiny per 2.5 Fate). Currently I can Pray for about 1.2k Destiny/second and Donate Gold for another 800.
Are there any other efficient ways of grinding necessary amounts of Destiny (other than unlocking more Envy and buffing loop actions)? Am I missing something? It feels waaay worse than Malice/Virtue grind in Evil City.

I think that's by design, otherwise, we could blast through the new content too quickly.

Not to mention, you need some 470m Destiny to level up "You" from the first two new dungeons, which will take quite some time, even with constant Praying/Donating.

Discord guys suggested farming dragon for Hot Stones and selling them through sloth with "A" option (to sell all at once) to increase gold income. But yeah, you're right - it is definitely a design decision.

Idk, I still blitzed through it anyways. Though I guess I do get 1.8k destiny from praying and 7 fate per fate conversion .... didn't even bother with anything besides praying to get destiny. My main problem for progression was the other stuff, like magic stones or blueberries.

Then have you unlocked the third dungeon and the boss? I really hope it's not the long research that's needed.

Well, you just need to go through the magic school you took and help them with their research so that they can present it at the arcane forum. And that will eventually lead to the boss. Though I so far only picked one of the 3 schools, so no idea how terrible the other schools might be.

The practical magic school required around 1T research total to clear that route. It was a total slog yet Libra Chimera hasn't dropped despite 10 defeats.

I had no problems in passing the area in 2 days, just leaving my note on overnight. Sloth: donate gold, pray with 3 pray-bonus companions (900 destiny/0.7sec) and dragon crater dungeon

Out of curiosity, do you remember which branch of magic you took and its requirement?

If the goal is to unlock alchemy, you'll have to take all three (actually four) branches of the Magic City schools. Each one takes roughly the same amount of time, although the Practical School might take less time if you do it last (since research persists across reincarnation).

if you add donate gold to sloth, you can set it to A, then it will donate all possible gold
combined with farming for dried fruit, it was enough for me to easily keep my destiny full

that of course depends on how high your multipliers are for dungeon reward and instant action but it is faster than praying

if that is not enough gold, add fire drake and sell hot stones, that should hopefully be enough

curious, did anyone hit reincarnation yet and know if the 40k/50k compound magic unlocks stays through reincarn or do we need (for tier 1) 260k inspiration each run ?

Yes, the 6 combo skills all stay through reincarnation, just like other skill unlocks.
