Silver scale dragon

Is it me or is the silver scale dragon waaaaaay too rare? I've run the deep ruins for near two days now, and have only run into it four times. Havent gotten any research from it in any of those cases

It's rare and you'll eventually just get him out of no where. No worries though, it's not important to farm.

its base passive are:
Wind max: +2.00
Wind regen: 0.200/s
Earth Max: +2.00
Earth regen: +0.200/s
max hp: +200
Add effect to wind
Add effect to earth

You won't need the dragon unless you plan to switch to magic and chances are, if you haven't unlocked this dragon yet, you probably haven't unlocked Advanced magic spell books.
It's magic which requires Rank 50 and 250 inspiration to just unlock one.


Edit: On a side note, if you really must farm it, switch to Tamer and up your research drop chance.

Check Effects on Wind and Earth that it adds. It actually boosts your stats (attack and defense) a lot, so switching to magic to make this dragon useful isn't necessary. It gives me +756 to base attack and defense for all units at 8k dragon's Special and 23 (28 with dragon's boost) base Wind. That more than doubles them.

It is rare. And maybe you are not killing it all the time (number in Beastiary is the amount of kills, but it does not show how many times you've met it), make sure you are stronger than an average monster that you meet there before you farm it (preferably kill Scarlet Dragon first, farm it and then come back after the Silver Scale Dragon). You may need those stat boosts that it gives if you go to the desert but other than that you are better off rebirthing and farming it next time (with Tamer or much better stats). As Eythen said the dragon is not necessary for anything (it is useful because it boosts attack a lot but still not very necessary).

The good thing about those rare enemy spawns is you only need 1 research and you can get max level from them after that by farming them on the demon king.

Been trying to get this guy while doing the Runes stuff, figured as im doing a Tamer run i may as well. Its been around 2 days Idle grinding and ive SEEN him 4 times even with the Rare spawn boost. Damn but hes a shy one! xD

You can manually enter and quit the area until you find the rare enemy on the first wave. Takes quite a bit of effort but it shouldn't take too long, I recommend putting the area on hotkey then keeping your mouse on the Quit button.

He doesn't spawn early on only deep like most actually rare rares, so that wouldn't work. But yeah just up the last part of tamer and make sure your stats are high enough to 1 shot, saw him a few times before killing scarlet dragon but couldn't kill him until afterwards.

thats wrong, he can spawn on any floor (or at least if it wasnt changed in an update in the last 2 weeks or so)
all rares can appear on the first floor of their respective dungeon, and they always appear allone, so the enter exit strategy works and you can easily see if only one mob spawned that it is the dragon
and there is a shortcut for leaving a dungeon, its "d"

You don't really need to shortcut the dungeon with the exit trick.
Just hover your mouse over the dungeon and the other hand on the "D" key.
If it is not a single mob when you enter, exit right away by pressing D and click on your mouse to re-enter.

Just be aware that if you have attacks that drains MP or Stamina for example, you might run out as it register one attack as you enter, so doing this a few times might leave you in a pinch :)

Always remember to over earth as far as possible and let it reg to full. That`s 13 earth -> 390 atk/def absolutely for free once you remove the unwanted +max earth summons from party
