Alcohol Tolerance for Elder Treant fight

Is it actually possible to get this prior to winning the Elder Treant fight?

The text with the Explorer in Spirit Spring makes some mention of getting this as a good idea, and your character considers trying to build it up by drinking with Father. The 1st Reincarnation Guide for Warriors also talks about it, though doesn't pursue it as the guide skips building up the Rock Golem (Salt).

In any case, I saw that Drinking wine with Father 1/15 (!) opened up after being able to exchange Anchovy Sandwiches for Wine, which is otherwise of questionable value given Anchovy Sandwiches, even at 1 for 3. But, the first step took 2 Wine, subsequent steps each cost +2 Wine, and at 6/15, 12 Wine was required, and even with the summons available to me then (everything, including rares, from Town, Forest, Academic City, Coastal City, and Spirit Spring, except, obviously, Elder Treant), Wine is capped at 10.

And no mention of tolerance or resistance yet.
Thus, "Is it possible to get it, prior to fighting the Elder Treant?" "Does it actually exist in game?"

P.S. At this point, I have beaten the Elder Treant on a lucky round, and am currently looking at Drinking with Father 7/15, but I'm still curious about this.

i think its somewhat poorly implemented
i think there is a resistance that grows, but it is immpossible to finish drinking with father it prior to the elder treant fight
there was some speculation that it may be gained via gluttony too, but dont know if thats true and what the numbers might be for it, cause if you are at a point where you can consume lareg amounts of wine... well the elder treant should not be a problem anymore xD

It is not possible to finish it, how ever it helps. The drunk effect from his wine splash move has a "random effect" and the %, if it makes your unit(s) drunk, gets lower the more of the "drink with father" quests you have done.

As you mentioned, it gets more and more expensive so that at some point its advised to rather eat the sandwiches directly for the gluttony effect instead of taking the 3 wine instead.

Sounds like it is somewhat better than I was expecting, if Drinking with Father does build up some hidden resistance stat.

I had been wondering if there was some hidden branch path I'd missed that made it possible by adding Wine cap or something.

But, it's still nice to know that finishing the action is impossible prior to Elder Treant.
