Mimic ?

Met one on Rocky hill while farming for fiber.Just had enough time to reed the name and i was curious what kind of monster it is.

Mimic is a very very very rare unit that can spawn in every dungeon but boss stages. Its way rarer than rate summos like silver scale, phantom whale, sludge slime and alike.

They have a decent chance of dropping a chest: Bronce, Silver or Gold.

They do NOT drop research. Instead:
* a bronce chest has a small chance of containing a silver chest
* a silver chest has a small chance of containing a gold chest
* a gold chest has a small chance of containing mimic research

The mimic is not pretty strong, yet it raises the chest drop chance of other mimics. Owning it is more a "completionist thing". I have basically done eveything in the game but the fifth ending, which is not doable yet without cheating and I do not have a mimic yet, nor have I seen many.

But we are lucky: "Mimic Festival" is on its way. A temporary event, raising the spawn rate of mimics a lot as well as a special dungeon "Mimic Fes" you can do once a day, that contains 3 mimics to fight with 100% drop chance for chests.

Well, this answers a question I had. One of my first bronze chests contained a silver chest, which contained a gold chest, which contained a mimic. I had it before fighting the orc. Was wondering whether this was fixed or if I was just crazy lucky!

I had the same thing happen to me! Mimic definitely helped me progress quickly since I'd gotten it on my very first play through somewhere after leaving the village. I thought it was a normal monster for a long time.
