You mean people play DS:R as part of EA Play's subscription service which also still has a nasty DRM causing microstutters on top, right?
Where'd you get those humble stats btw? Horror's still a genre not everyone loves to begin with so go figure why it wouldn't be the most-played of the bunch, but a source would help anyway.
Meanwhile let's take a look at steam's actual charts right now...
DS:R 350 players right now, 484 24-hour peak
TCP 343 players right now, 460 24-hour peak
If anything neither are "getting lapped" by the other, they're trading places every day.
Still waiting for Lardo to respond to the paragraph you skipped past btw..
I use steam charts 30 day numbers. I listed them in my initial post. Going of longer time periods, DS beats Callisto, humble or not.
By those number, Callisto is barely beating the worst far cry on a month where it's on sale.
And Callisto isn't even the most played game of the month in this months bundle. It's a secondary title.
I’m not sure what you want me to respond to. You have your opinion - fine, but in my experience making sequels to flopped games is extremely rare and requires a lot of passion and effort. I’m not saying they will never make it, but they will never ever get a budget that’s comparable to the first game, that’s for sure
We'll see; for gaming's sake I hope both DS and TCP will be getting more and even better sequels since I'm not seeing many niche tiitles quite like them around to compare to, and wish there were more to be playing.
In the process of playing a copy of Callisto Protocol now, about halfway through and it's pretty fun. I can say I like the style of it. Only halfway through though so my opinion could change I suppose.
Too bad it flopped.
Edit - although now that I've finished the game, I detested the ending of it (Final Transmission). Definitely wouldn't buy a sequel after an ending that awful.
Man dont follow this studio anymore it was Glen Schofield and the guys he brought on that made Colisto Protocol even happen and hes left along with everyone who was brought on by him and he is working on something new and scary post i seen two months back by him
It wasnt this studios talent that made Calisto happen it was Glenn and his guys who were brought on to make the game and they have left and why this project birds eye is mehhh.....Glen is working on something new post i seen few months back
