don't buy it
unless you support predatory companies that split their game in half just to sell it twice via DLCs

Actually howlongtobeat.com lists it as 10 hrs Main Story, and 12 hrs Main + Extra. You don't have to be a completionist to put in 12 hrs on it because there's a lot of optional side areas that have loot that's worth getting, and sometimes you have to battle through enemies to get it.

These estimations are likely for the default Normal mode with Med or Max security at most. On Hardcore and especially Contagion mode, it takes more time.

BS. The only story DLC is short, cheap and utterly inessential and the horde mode is the classic "we didn't have a single original idea for DLC, so horde mode it is".

Honestly I enjoyed the game from start to finish, and the ending looked like any cheap horror movie ending, which was fine to me, because that's what the story was (and I liked that - I prefer this kind of simple story in my games, stay classic and efficient, instead of a stupid mess). I know they continue the story in the DLC, I don't care, I never touch DLCs, and certainly will survive the "cliffhanger" ending haha, ♥♥♥♥ them if they intend me to pay a DLC to continue it, I won't, and I really enjoyed my time with the game from begin to the end as it is.

Game's fine like it is for me.

I agree on most of this, except I didn't mind getting Final Transmission with it because it added a different kind of gameplay, and the parts that were similar even were a bit more challenging due to regular biophages simultaneously attacking. FT also shows how Jacob's story ends.

And even though I don't obsess over the story content as much as some do, I feel it's story was good, well delivered, and not a soap opera like Dead Space 3's was. I don't mind some touchy story moments like TLoU and Days Gone had, but it wouldn't have fit here.

The story here is much more pure desolate, desperate survival horror. I got the game and DLC on the holiday half price sale, so the DLC was pretty cheap for me, and well worth it.
