Kinetic Hammer bug?

I'm finishing up a playthrough of Final Transmission and am trying to get the 3rd fuse to unlock the hatch and go down the ladder, but suddenly my hammer is stuck on charged swings instead of charged ground strikes.

It's like a weird limbo between a swing and a ground strike because I can see it charging, but I can't hold it until I want to attack like a normal charged melee weapon.

Has anyone else had this happen, and is there anyway around it?

Looks like I might not even be able to get back to where I was, I lost the Continue option in the main menu and I don't see my load point in Final Transmission either.

Looks like I might not even be able to get back to where I was, I lost the Continue option in the main menu and I don't see my load point in Final Transmission either.

I think what happened was, FT has a bug that auto saves every time you reload a checkpoint, this overwrites all your auto saves very quickly and then the game can't see them so whatever reason, might be some kind of a Steam Cloud sync glitch. I fixed it thusly:
1. Backup the whole save game directory, just to be safe.
2. Turn off Steam Cloud.
3. Find your latest auto save and rename it to a manual save, like PhxManualSaveXX.sav, where XX is your highest manual save number plus 1.
4. The game should now see your new manual save
5. IDK about the hammer glitch, but if it still persists, use an earlier auto save and repeat 3. and 4.
