Robots are pretty diesel and would likely be dispatched en-masse for riots (as prisoners wouldn't have been as tough as the biophages). I also imagine having 4+ guards near-by with GRPs would also stop a good group of people (Ferris is a sorta bad example being the chief, but before he was infected he tanks almost 3 guys immediately).
Taser is a good call out though - as if anyone managed to get their hands on a guards suit or one of the Enviro suits - it would be a good way I imagine to locking the systems up sending a huge current into it (as they seem fragile as eggs with a single piece of glass saving your life).
Some sonic emitter would also be very useful later as a lure for the blind enemies. Toss it away from you to buy some time or lure a couple of guys to a spot if your low on ammo to sneak by.
One thing I call out a lot lately - where is anything stasis? This has medical applications, it has restraint applications, it has survivability applications depending on how it works (blast falling rubble to slow it down so people can escape in time).
Consider the game takes place in the year 2320, given the rate of human technological development, ESPECIALLY when it comes to weapons, and how some weapons are targeted to specific uses and locales, that pistols, shotguns, bludgeons, and a assault rifle are the weapons available.......feels like the least realistic aspect of this game...at least in my personal opinion.
Most importantly, weapon were boring and uninspiring, even lazy. Why we had 2 shotguns? Why we had assault rifle and tactical pistol? Weapons did not have clear roles since they all could stagger enemies. This is major difference to Dead Space where you had iconic weapon-plasma cutter-that had key role in combat. It also made it possible to go through the game with just plasma cutter and not feel bored. Callisto Protocol had weapons that lack any identity and only difference was a damage number.
We could had various melee weapons with different reach or dual-wield option. I would expect some kind of weapon able to incapacitate enemies since the combat is so bad when you face multiple enemies. Instead we got boring weapons that are feeling all the same. Wasted opportunity.
I dont think the protagonist would be doing a lot of doom/quake style weapons switching in combat.
For one, you have to semi assemble the weapon.
I dont think that was the intention of the game or what the devs were going for at all
Protagonist is no super soldier.
I just use mostly the baton and the shotgun, or pistol, depending on ammo available.
And the GRP to ♥♥♥♥♥ slap things
