Do enemies killed with help from environment drop loot?
It seems kind of random or am I just missing the loot sometimes?

Sometimes when I kill an enemy by throwing them into a trap or something they drop loot and sometimes it seems like they don't - am I just not seeing the loot the other times or is it random or do some enemies just not drop loot??

Ya, I've tried that. I've stomped the crap out of the bodies and no loot (that I could see)

I am wondering if some of the environment traps are just flinging the loot out of reach or something because some of them destroy the body with such force that if they apply physics to loot objects in this game then they could be ending up anywhere.
Fan kills or meat grinders don't drop loot from my experience, only the spike traps.

If the enemy doesn't drop loot, try hitting the body again. Usually they will drop something if you hit the body (so like, the ones that hit something and do may have died from the throw)

Just like any enemy you kill in combat can usually be stomped again for 1 drop per body. Only exception is if they clip into a wall from what I have seen (or like - are in an inaccessible area).

Yeah, I've got loot off guys I throw into the wall spikes. Speaking of which, they don't really seem to be a realistic part of the environment, unlike the fans.

If I throw them onto spikes I can loot them by smacking them with the baton, but I threw one into a whirling fan blade and they were too much turned into soup to loot.

Wall spikes come standard in prison.

Fans, grinders, etc., do not drop loot. Wall Spikes will drop loot but you will have to melee the corpse to get any item.

I could be wrong but if you can find the body of those killed by the meat grinders, you can stomp on it and it'll still drop loot. Sometimes you can find the body, sometimes it's completely disintegrated. At least that's what I found during the trap that prevents inmates from escaping in, what, the 3rd chapter?
