Game still absolutely runs like garbage.
Title.
I have a 4090 and a Ryzen 9 5900X

Updated it last night, just ran a bench mark and it still stutters, low frames.
Any other reccomendations?
I ran the benchmark on DX11, max, FSR set to quality.

Do you have RTX on?

What resolution are you playing at?

Disable ray tracing, motion blur, and vsync. You also need to wait at the main menu after the recent patch until it gets smooth to let it compile the shaders.

the game runs smooth in my case, I'm using 4090 too, I run the game at max with RT and without FSR. I think you should drop resolution to 1440p, turn off RT, turn off FSR also, and play the game not the benchmark. I got suttering in benchmark too but the game runs fine

When holograms appear near me, my FPS says "man I'm dead". Do you also have this problem?
And maybe you remember location where you must clear air of fog, there I have terrible lags.

I have an I7 10700k with 64 GB RAM 3600mhz and an RTX 4090 and I get about 90-120 FPS with everything maxed out but with RT OFF. 90% of stutters dissapeared after last night's patch. With RT ON, I average 60fps, with some occasional dips to 45fps. 4K. FSR OFF always, it doesn't work. This isn't ideal but super playable for me, and i'm loving the game. Looks amazing on my OLED.

P.S. G sync saves the day once again.

Man I'm with you, but I can't play at 4k, I play at 1440p with RT on, I can't sacrifice the RT because it looks so damn good, and sure, RT is super heavy in this game, I just hope they somehow update DLSS for Nvidia user, we deserve it

Hey bro - what the ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about? IF you can't run the game with ray-tracing you just don't play it.

The second you stop playing with Raytracing you go from a next generation game -> right back to a last generation game.

I've been playing the game on medium graphics high lighting DX12 fullscreen and ive got good frames and no huge stutters only once every now and then, I fount that running the game on high graphics really tanks your pc. hope this helps.

I have a 3070 and get 60fps at high settings, 4k "quality" FSR, but without RT. It's the ray tracing dude, always is. It's not a big deal in this game, switch it off. Gives you a reason to replay someday.

I know with a 4090 you're like "I WANT MAX SETTINGS" but RT still isn't ready for primetime like that.

liar, ive seen 4090 videos on yt with max settings and max ray tracing and it runs like trash with 50fps dips, tears, stutters and shadow pop-in even at 1440p

Really, I think your full of crap or need to fix your computer, my friend has 13700k/4090 and his runs flawlessly at 4k see the video he posted https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggVsTXA7P4c

And mine runs flawlessly also and im using a 7700X with a Stock OCed 6950XT all settings maxed with ray tracing, this ones my video(my video was recorded before the "patch"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PoWoBj_qKc

As for suggestions, all drivers need to be updated, clean junk out of your computer,

disable full screen optimizations, add the game to Settings -->display--> graphics section and set it's profile to high performance.

Put the game on a high speed SSD (M.2 PCIe x4)

in the graphics card control panel enable performance mode.

You don't have to play at 1440p. The problem with ray tracing is CPU not GPU.
Ray tracing in this game chokes CPU to death, plus the poor UE4 CPU utilization make it even worse.
Even 13900k, can't keeps this game run at 60fps with ray tracing on.
