#1: If you're just starting the fight, you barely have enough time to get a full heal injector off if you start healing right as it loads in, he'll open with a ranged attack (Or at least he has from my experience) and you'll eat that hit, but you'll gain more health than you'll lose, if you hold S while healing you'll also auto-block the projectile he throws at you.
#2: The GRP is going to be your savior during this fight. If you've got enough ammo to first phase him, (Breaking the head shield and hurting him till he roars and regenerates it) he's going to summon a crowd of those exploders to try and kill you, these guys drop ammo when killed. You'll want to bunch up as many of them as you can, GRP grab one, then throw them into the rest, you'll kill them all and they should drop a lot of ammo to keep the fight going. If you can, group them all up under the boss then grab and throw one at the group, they'll all detonate and do a massive amount of damage to the boss, then after you kite him away you can run in and snap up all the ammo they dropped. Do not try to baton the exploders under any circumstances, it'll only go badly.
To add onto #2, I'd also recommend being aware of where the exploders are in the arena or how many of them are in play, because you can dodge the boss attack and wind up atop one, and then it'll immediately detonate and kill or ragdoll you, giving the boss time to start a follow-up attack and kill you. If you can't confidently corral or manage them, then prioritize killing them first and securing the ammo when they show up, then focus on the boss.
#3: There's also crates sitting around the edges of the arena which should also contain ammo and general supplies, they're scattered around the outer 'ring' once you get past the broken walls. Health pickups also appear on the shelves, I believe, so those may also be useful.
#4: You sprint faster than the boss walks, use this to your advantage to get some breathing room, but keep in mind he'll sprint towards you to get a swing off if you get too far away or if he goes too long without attacking you.
#5: If you know he's about to attack or sprinting up to attack, ensure you're facing him and get ready to dodge. If you're not looking at him when the attack goes off, it seems to not matter whether or not you have a dodge key pressed, you'll eat the hit and die.
#6: Vaulting over the walls on the edge of the arena can get you some space because he can't vault them, he has to walk around them. Use this to your advantage.
That's a nice tip, but it won't do anything, because i'm one hit, no matter how much life i have, due to the hardest difficulty. But that's not the problem, he never hits me (beside one or two ranged attacks, but these do so little dmg...i can pick up the healing items on the shelves around the arena to counter that easy).
Yeah, did all of that, i get maybe 5 rounds for my shotgun and 8 round for the pistol :(
First thing i do is running around till i got every crate...still not enough ammo.
That's something new i can implement in my trys.
Thanks a lot for your reply and the in depth explanations.
Sadly most of it wasn't new to me. I was hoping for a secret strategy, some trick. haha. But that means i didn't miss something wich means again i'am fckd...
Another user advised me to change the difficulty. That is maybe my last hope...sadly...
the last levels is filled with sellable valuables i had 2300 credits when i got the last fight and sold all my other ammo and bought a full inventory of hand canon ammo and used its secondary explosive shots to kill the boss easy
upgrade the GRP to full and the baton
all the other weapons like assault rifle the tactical pistol and the skunk shotgun are pretty useless
the skunk shotgun does do more damage than the free one you get and is imo the only other fire arm you should upgrade
the tactical pistol is completely useless and the assault rifle is useless too
ignore all other firearms and save your money
your meant to use melee or the GRP most if not all the time since they use no resources
with the GRP you can instantly kill enemies in almost each area
if you simply shoot every enemy you face you are playing the game wrong
using your firearms needs to be done as a last resort always try to go for melee and GRP environmental kills and if yours GRPS damage has been maxed you can even kill the zombies without using spikes or spinning blades
Yea...idk.
I have a fully upgraded grp, baton and hand canon. I have 2 upgrades in the tactical pistol, that was a mistake. Nothing else besides these. I always had ammo problems within my playthrough although looting everything, even enemies i thrown into the spikes. And i didn't had the feeling overusing my guns. In the old prison area i backstabbed nearly everything...idk maybe my oldass is just to bad at this game and i bought to much health injectors...
the only time you should use a firearm is after doing a melee combo and using the aimbot targeting system to get a quick shot in
if you get good at the melee combat and learn to use GRP you wont even need weapons for basic zombies
This sounds like a skill issue honestly.
Ammo was really low at the end, leaving me with just on mag for the hand cannon, but then he died faster than expected...that means i was close yesterday a couple of times.
But thanks for all the replies and help!
At any rate, if you've gotten to know the game well, it should be possible by the time you get to this fight to buy and/or loot in the hallway outside this battle area more than enough ammo for two guns even on Hardcore. If not, you may have opted to buy too many weapons, as the game will keep dropping ammo for all weapons you've bought whether you use them or not. This is why it's best to stick to the main two weapons that work best for you. Having only two weapons also makes fully upgrading them no problem.
As far as tactics go, On Hardcore I kept shooting his mask armor with the regular Riot Shotgun rounds, then used explosive shotgun rounds on his bare face when his mask armor was broken. At the point he starts doing his ranged attacks, it's a good Idea to head back out to that hallway, as it has spots along it you can duck behind for cover, and also explosive bottles you can GRP toss at him. You need to listen for the explosive crawlies though, and it's easier to do that if you turn the volume of the battle music all the way down. For them I'd either use a regular pistol round, or if I saw them in time, GRP toss them at the boss.
