The way I beat it is by running to the side of cover opposite of him whenever he's regrowing his shield thing. That normally gave me enough time to get a heal off, though it was always close.
also almost all my weapons are fully upgraded , same with my glove. so easy mode fight should not be this hard.
But you are right, healing takes way too long.
i've had on issues the whole game until now, and its driving me crazy lol.
Notes I find useful if you're still stuck on this fight:
#1: You have just enough time at the start of the fight, if you begin healing IMMEDIATELY as it loads in, to get a full injector off. The boss seems to open with a ranged attack and you will get hit by it, but if you hold S while healing it seems you'll automatically block when the projectile is sent your way, minimizing damage.
#2: Generally speaking, you sprint faster than the boss walks and can get distance on him that way, however, if you get too far away or if too much time passes between the boss getting to attack you, he'll start sprinting towards you to close the gap. When this happens, you need to turn around, face him, and get ready to dodge the attack. Once you dodge, you've got room to run away and open the distance again. Pay close attention because his footsteps sound much louder and frequent when he's sprinting. If you're not facing him when he swings, it won't matter if you've got the dodge keys pressed, you'll get hit and you'll die.
#3: Whenever the boss roars and restores the shield protecting his head, a group of exploders are going to fill into the arena and also start coming after you. You can shoot these for ammo, or you can also grab them with the GRP and throw them at the boss for free extra damage. What I've found best to do is kite them until they're all gathered up under the boss since the boss and them move at a similar speed, then shoot one to detonate them all and do a massive amount of damage, usually cracking the head shield in the process.
Also related to #3, be careful when dodging the attacks of the boss, as if an exploder is too close, you may dodge onto it, and then it'll explode and knock you down, kill you, or stun you long enough that the boss can also hit you and kill you. Worst case scenario if you can't be sure it's safe to dodge him, prioritize clearing out the exploders and looting their ammo, then focus on him instead.
#4: If you're out of ammo to deal with the exploders or want to conserve it, remember you can GRP throw them, both at the boss and other exploders, they will still drop their ammo if killed this way.
#5: The boss seems to be unable to rotate or aim his ranged attack, so if you see him winding it up, sprint to the left, as his swing seems to favor sending all those projectiles towards the right side.
#6: If you need to get some distance on the boss, vault over the walls on the edges of the arena. You can jump over these, he has to walk around, and as a result, it's a good way to get at least a little bit of breathing room. Unfortunately the only way you'll get enough of said room to get an extra heal off is if you can somehow have him on the opposite end of the arena, so you're better off treating the health you have as all you're going to get.
but also just to mention when trying to vault the walls alot of the times it wouldn't work for me and that happened in other areas of the game as well. so its a hit or miss if i actually vault but i really appreciate the help.
