Game takes forever to load just to give me a black screen.

Once i click play, steam says that the game is running but the game does not open until 40ish minutes later. Once it does, i have the unreal, amd logo and other opening cutscenes show after which i just get a black screen. Is there a fix to this?
PC spec:

SSD drive
16 GB ram DDR4
i5 10600k
RTX 2060

When I tried RT the game took 5min to load compared to like 5 seconds on Dx11. If you ever do get back in game try to switch it to Dx11 and see.

I don't know if you solved it already but I typed -popupwindow as a launch option. That worked for me.

I cant launch the game at all to even start for the first time. I have to wait 40 mins to play!!?

I have not solved it, i ended up just launching the game and going off my pc and doing something else while it boots up. Ended up finishing the game today actually. It was rly fcking good if you can look past the god awful optimization it had at launch and the boot up time.

When you launch it do you see it load up in your taskbar or is nothing there for the full 40 minutes you wait for the game to launch? Because its doing the same to me

It's not in task bar for around 30 minutes, then it pops up, plays like the amd/nvidia opening thingy and then gives me a black screen for another 15ish minutes untill im finally in the menu.

It finally launched for me after 25 minutes. I have no idea why this is happening

Yea it has some issues that the devs need to resolve. No clue what could be causing it though. Im well above their recommended specs, even got an SSD hard drive.

That's weird lol. 40 minutes? It takes like 10 seconds to load up on mine. Are you running any third party av or anything?

i just killed the first bootup in task manager
now everything seems fine.

Goto \AppData\Local\CallistoProtocol\Saved\, delete Config folder.
