HOW 2 FORCE GAME TO PRELOAD SHADERS AND FIX STUTTER!!
Paste these lines into the bottom of Engine.ini in config directory

[/script/engine.renderersettings]
r.CreateShadersOnLoad=1

This DOES make it take much longer to load, but largely resolves the compilation stutter

thanks pcgamingwiki

Well your post was already an unoriginal copy of what *several* other people have posted today (funny how you all found the same "fix" and ran back to share it) - so egh, you're welcome? Thanks for all the clown awards! Refilled my coffers somewhat :)
Oh, you mean like the video posted earlier? Hmm. Irony continues. My man, steam points are useless. If that's what you are looking for, totally called it with the reddit ♥♥♥♥, bet you love getting that Reddit gold.

That could be a separate GPU/Mem issue; check your Windows Event Viewer and it may have some detail in the "Applications" section of the logs.

Per someone else here, it doesn't do anything so it can't be this that caused your computer to do anything differently.

Hey, an ACTUAL person who knows some tech knowledge is here. Not some random with YT experience who 'corrects' people.

Because you've already ran the benchmark, thus compiled specific shaders the first time. That's why it runs better the second time! >_______<
This does not apply to the in-game benchmark. Re-running the benchmark will re-introduce stutters, brand new, every time.

Without modifying the game, the game surprisingly does NOT CACHE the benchmark at all, as it does the base game.

I will try this fix and test this myself now...

Also, the devs have launched a twitter reply an hour ago, they are working on a day one patch for PC which will be available any hour now.

The issue here is that to know if that .ini edit does what it's supposed to do you can only relaly test it with someone who hasn't played the game at all. If they have barely any stutters at the start because of the fix, then it does indeed help. But since you've already played the game quite a bunch you've alleviated the issue yourself already quite a bit even without any fixes. Shader Compilation stutter is an issue that kind of fixes itself over time as you keep playing,

If you update your driver and clean your shader cache then then you've essentially reset the issue and it will stutter really bad again.

PCgamingwiki like most wikis are edited by other people often using fixed sourced from social media and discussion forums not everything there necessarily works. I believe you that your game runs better now, but it's not necessarily because of the fix you posted.

TBH - reading through the community is hard lol; but seriously, a lot of folks want to be the "first" one to post something or be the hero (save for necro-posters that bring something back after years anyway).

Do agree though that there are too many of these fix threads (especially when a patch is supposedly coming; might do similar things kek).

il be honest im high as ♥♥♥♥ i found it on pcgaminwiki tested it for 20min went through new level fought my first robot had 1 stutter compaired to the constant i was getting before winning share this ♥♥♥♥.. was a no brainer.. pointless since patch will drop any min but i personally didnt want to spoil anymore of my gameplay due to stutters warning me something was about to happen so figured id share the wealth while we wait the longest couple of hours ever as they tweeted the patch would take.. about 4hours ago

They probably will, however, Sabin believes none of it will fix anything. So who knows.

Good, our guy Sabin, waited MONTHS for this game.

Yes it is a solid argument, because it's based on facts. How about you go and look up on your own how shader compilation works in DX12 since you refuse to listen to other poeple telling you the basics of it.

Edit: ♥♥♥♥ it. I know you won't. Fine don't take the word of some internet rando who understand some basic information that should be obvious knowledge to most pc gamers these days, listen to the digital foundry reviewer who is required to understand this issue as part of his job.

https://youtu.be/Psetdjz01mI?t=1377

If that's not enough then do your own research on DX12 shader compilation.
Immediately assumes I meant the worst of him. You really aren't worth my time, my dude. I was talking about how you present your information. You're just as bad as Sabin.

I wasn't assuming anything. I described myself as some internet rando, because that's what I am to you to be quite fair. The information is verifiable though and rather well understood at this point, doesn't take a lot of technical understanding either. But i see that you've resigned yourself to trolling instead based on your responses here, so I'm not sure if it's worth addressing you on this unless you are actually interested in understanding something new to you.

And that's all well and good, admirable to want to help fix an issue, nobody ever disputed that -- all I said was what we've all seen all day; it doesn't work. If you "feel" it works then, huh, power to you, but in reality that command isn't doing what you think it does. It's a placebo :) The true and only "fix" will be whatever the developers put out -- which will probably be a lengthy precompile stage on first run, like Star Ocean and the like.

If a simple INI command could fix this, like the infamous typo fix that improved Colonial Marines AI, it'd likely have been stickied/pinned/whatever and we'd all be enjoying the game right now \o/

Let's be honest, you could be John Linneman himself and this chud would still find something to troll about. It's a "head/wall" situation that isn't worth pursuing.

Are you sure it's not the weed :DMCJester1:.

In anyway hopefully the game will run better for you guys with the patch. I think I'll wait and see before making any decisions.

2hours played.. played new areas met new enemey 1 stutter.. new drivers installed this morning yes i booted the game on the new drivers before trying this fix however loading into the a whole new area where you fight the first robot i had the 1 stutter and that was it.. the game does take significantly longer to load also which makes me inclined to think there is more then a placebo going on.. this does not nor have i said it fixes ALL STUTTERS just most of them.. at least for me and it seems a couple of others if it works for you then winning mate! if not oh well wait for a patch whats the harm in people trying a potential fix?! its not cost anyone anything its not like iv just got people to mine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bit coin for me its a post i found and repeted and credited lol
