Steam Deck performance
If anyone is wondering or is thinking to ask this question: the game runs natively on steam deck. It does about 40 fps on low preset DX 12 (39.64, to be precise, in the internal bench), and almost 30 (28.something) at medium preset.

Hope this helps someone.

Better performance than Pokemon Violet & Scarlet, then.

would switching to dx11 improve performance?

Thanks! Am debating buying this with a 3090 and 10900-I7. Concerned about my Ultrawide monitor though with all this bug talk. Steam Deck can play it? I might buy it!

Haven't tried yet but will do shortly.

DX 12 to 11 doesn't change results, medium preset gives 29.something fps, but with heavy initial stuttering and drops.

I wouldn't consider the game perfectly playable at medium. At low it is quite ok. I will do a couple of other tests trying to fine tune.

Ok, i think i found something that is acceptable:

Start by putting the game on medium preset.

Then:
framerate limit: 60
DX: 12
Resolution: 720p (16:10, as per deck screen) in order to make use of built in fsr.
Screen mode: full screen
Lighting: lighting quality standard, shadows , voulmetrics and particles all to medium
effects: depth of field ON, blur OFF, subsurface OFF, AA: FXAA, film grain OFF.
advanced: all to medium

With these settings (some names could be different, i am not playing in english) the graphic quality is still very good and FPS are 34.25 in the internal bench

There is the rare slowdown, but it's entirely playable.

I hope this makes someone happy :)

Interesting, I seen one reviewer post that it ran at 14fps on low settings.

nah, can post a photo. Wait, i will do it now, give me time to upload it somewhere.

That said, the game is not entirely fluid, it goes from more than 40 fps to, sometimes, 25, and sometimes there are the stutters everyone talks about, so the final experience is not perfect, but it is entirely playable.

If they release a patch that solves the stuttering, and there's no reason to think they won't, it will be perfectly fine.

A couple of screenshots that show how the fps change. But decisely it is not low settings and it does not run at 17 fps.

Those screenshots were made with the settings i described.
