Games like RE 8 are short but make up for it with other modes and making subtle changes on higher difficulty modes so there is some replay value. If this game can do something similar, there will be more bang for the buck.

It perplex me so much why people change their value point about games, it took 15$ for a 2 hour movie or like 100$ for one day at Disney. But a 60$ game requires 30 hours of mindfully craft gameplay (if it has) to satisfy you?

tbh 12-14 hours for a singleplayer horror/atmospheric driven game is quite good enough. You can try to explore more and go another path (like dungeon devs said), and change higher difficulty. then It maybe cost up to 30 hours

That is hard mode for this game. Even normal for this game is challenging from reports. The enemies are bullet sponges.

I think it's ok for such horrors, I am actually prefer shorter games in this genre

For horror game even 8 hours is very ok. IMO. For example, you can pass Dead Space for about 11 hours. And if you like to explore locations and find different lore stuff, you gonna spend about 20 hours. I guess, The Callisto Protocol has similar game length.

The game will have a survival horde mode, and a perma-death difficulty mode later as part of the season pass as well as a story expansion. but yeah, I agree with most people here, 30 hours is way too long for a game like this. 10-15 hours if you are checking every nook and cranny is more than good. You can't go off the made up dollar per hour metric that some people refer to. I've played 5 hours $40 games that were amazing, and I've played 60 hour $80 games that were trash.
