In a way yes, the head director Glen Schofield, the one who worked on and practically created dead space now has a new small team to work on callisto protocol. So this is our long awaited dead space 4 but in a different universe.

This. This series will be a spiritual successor in every part of the word. I look forward to seeing if there will still be that psychological element to the sci-fi horror aspect as well. I'm kind of glad they're keeping it under wraps. I'm excited to see how the story turns out.

During the early development of Dead Space, its story was not about spaceship, but about prisoner trying to escape monster-infested prison on the moon. Calisto Procotol is basically result of developers behind original Dead Space getting back to this idea.

we did get a sequel to Dead Space 2, it was the horrible action-horror, coop, microtransaction ridden steaming pile called Dead Space 3. it was a decent coop game, but a terrible dead space.

I donno about half baked, it looks pretty awesome to me and a bunch of other people. Would I have preferred if this same team made a dead space 4? sure, but that's not going to happen. I'll take a spiritual successor made by the same creator and dev team instead.

I have an unpopular opinion of DS3 .. I thought it was good Not great like DS and DS2, but worth playing for sure.

It's more sifu / souls in space than Dead Space. It sometimes has elements and atmosphere like that game but the gameplay is nothing like dead space
