Abandon Game if HookShot Doesn't Drop?

So if you fail to dig up a HookShot from all the Graveyards, is it even worth continuing with that game? I think it would be a lot easier to wipe and restart than having to suffer without having it.

the hookshot is needed to beat the game, you cant miss it. continue with the story quests & its found in the thieves tower

Every other thread with people asking about the hookshot has people saying "I found mine by digging it up in a cemetery" and "you should check the cemeteries" and never say that the main storyline quests has you retrieve one from a location that always spawns one. So when a new person searches, instead of seeing the intended solution, they see the optional secret solution that is a random spawn instead.

+1 for what pirate said, it skips some quests if you find it in the graveyard as well so be careful if you wanna get it that way. you can also find stairs / a hole in graveyards, dont go down them unless you can kill the skeleton mobs easy or you will loose your money.

people are asking about the slingshot (alot) because in the demo you found it in the hole under the dead tree on the tutorial island, but in the main game its not there

Wait, can we find a hookshot by digging in the graveyards? Nice! I found two without even looking for them in Castle Superbia (is that the name?) -- I found it laying on the ground of one of the Castle's floors and when I came back to the same place a few seconds/minutes later, because I forgot to check something on that floor, there it was again, I even got an achievement.

I also heard people saying you can get one from the Thieves Tower, but I haven't even tried to get in there yet.

Which one? I mean, I found 2 in Castle Superbia, plus 1 in a Graveyard and 1 in the Thieves Tower means we can find at least 4 per run.

You did better than me then i had one in superbia and the one from grave and the one from MSQ.

a) You can acquire one by digging near a specific headstone after using the boat. I'm not sure which one specifically, but it's in one of the graveyard-like areas.

b) An extra hook dropped for me after fighting the assassin boss, and I do not doubt that there are more of them around the world, as they can be sold for extra money if you find more than one.

There is always a guaranteed hookshot as part of the main story line quests, located on the upper floors of the thieves tower. Going there to get it is a part of the main story. There are other places where you can get one that are random spawns, but the ones in the thieves tower is always there because it's part of the main story line.

If you don't have the quest to get into the thieves tower yet, then you can just continue doing the main storyline quests until you get it. It will be tied to finding one of the other dragon hunting parties across the river to the northwest, and to get across that river you need a hookshot, so you get directed to other NPCs who may be able to help get you one by sneaking into the thieves tower.

Finding one from a random dig spot earlier than that is a bonus. I've also always found one in superbia castle, but on one of the upper floors. The quest before the thieves tower that has you sneak into superbia castle to steal a book only requires you go to the first/main floor. The thieves tower one is still the main/intended/guaranteed one to get.

+1 to this. The sole thought that you can't just buy a hook, a chain and combine it. Had to look up where I can find one. Found one right next to a graveyards where I already went digging... just not right there. So annoying.

they should just make hookshot enabled by default or can be found right at the starting area (dungeon) =_= because i can't find any hookshot too
