Very Low Frame rates on High End PC
I'm experiencing VERY low frame rates in this game ~16FPS. Frame rate doesn't change even when putting video settings at low. Does anyone have a fix or experience the same thing? Specs below:

Ryzen 7 5800X
32GB RAM @ 4000Mhz
AMD 6800 XT
2TB M.2 SSD

Same issue already tested with a Rtx 3090 and Rtx 2080ti with same results. Will bump your thread.

same here, thankfully I have the demo so no money wasted,
Started the game fresh and here you go 55FPS on low settings on a high end PC,
5600X
32GB DDR4 3200mhz
Aorus 6800XT

Could I ask how many people you have and how many ingame years have passed? On a configuration such as yours, minimum fps should be 60 (in early game).

Since the release we made several optimizations regarding NavMesh and loading times, and in our testing, there was about 30% increase in performance when operating larger cities.
With Update 12, scheduled for September 28th, more elements of the optimization will be introduced.

And just one note in the end - we haven't updated the demo with all optimization features that main game received - this will be done with upcoming Update 12, then demo will be updated as well...

Same problem here, especially when loading games with a large enough save scale (mine is more than 23 years)

This is the issue I'm having. I have only just purchased the game, so I cannot even play it. I average 8 FPS.

Thought I would throw my two cents in here for some comparison.

Hardware config (old but it's what I got) :
7700K @4700, 32GB RAM, GTX 1080, 2560x1440@75Hz display, running game from SATA SSD.

Game Settings:
Texture, Model, and Environment Qual: normal
Everything else except soft particles and and SSAO is off.

With a large village @2182 citizens I'm running at an acceptable 40-50 FPS. This is a big improvement from a couple weeks ago (before the optimizations) where in a similarly sized village I was hitting single digit frame rates.

Since @Builder_of_Worlds mentioned loading times, I'll note that I have not seen any improvement at all. This current game takes just shy of two minutes to load! (And I thought Cities Skyline was slow to load!) Much optimization needed there for sure!!

maybe bad options on hardware drivers? nvida has so many different option.. is hard to say what slow down your game, i have 1070 gtx and overall 60 fps on high grafic settig

That sounds about right. In our similar testing rigs, we're getting approx these results, at least up until you reach thousands of citizens. Later stages of the game will definitely be optimized more...

Same here. FPS drops significantly as soon as winter hits. Minor FPS drops in summers when scrolling over orchards and farms but Winter completely grinds my screen to a halt. I zoom in to the max on an empty patch of land with the least things to render and fast forward 3 months(thanks to auto trade). fixes itself in march as soon as the snow melts.
14 years into the game, population(115/47/109)
Playing at lowest settings
RYZEN5 4600H
GTX 1650
16 GB RAM

Looking at this particular system, on settings you play, if you turn off other possible background programs, game should run decently. GPU is a bit on the low side (it is a relatively new graphics unit, but performance wise, it is comparable or a bit slower then older GTX 970), rest of the hardware shouldn't have any particular struggle in our experiences...

My system:
I9 9900K
RTX 2080 S
32 GB RAM
Playing with 1440p

Experiencing relatively low FPS depending on the type and amount of trees on the map.
Some maps (like "Volcano" with the palmtrees) run with 50-60 fps, wich is ok.

Other maps with many broad leaved trees run really poor compared with the before mentioned map. Here I am stuck at 25-40 fps.

The game looks nice, don't get me wrong. But I think it does not look so incredibly breathtaking that my system can't run it at constant 60 fps at least.

This happens to me as well especially in the Winter season.
I have at least 300+ citizens in total and when I zoom in it is going to be super laggy.

I only have a rtx 2060 with i5 9th gen cpu. I turned texture as well to normal and no increase of performance.

And as answered by the Builder_of_Worlds, I hope the update will boost performance after the update.

I am enjoying the game by the way, thanks devs for the game!

Happy to hear you're having fun! Yes, more optimizations are on the way. Meanwhile, one thing that was added in last update was option to disable SSAO in launcher options. In some cases it had a profound impact on performance, perhaps you can try that too?

I just downloaded the demo, I'm at the very beginning with 5 houses. I only get +- 51 fps so I expect it will become unplayable when the number of citizens will increase. Reducing all graphics settings doesn't make any difference at all. GTX 1080, Ryzen 3 3100, 16 GB RAM. Does the real game run better? When the fps performance of the demo equals the real rame, I'm afraid I cannot take it.

the frame rate drop problem starts when i load the a save.
