Game wont start since last update

The Steam box blinks up, telling me that it is starting the game, then it is gone, the steam button on the game page in my libary is switched from 'stop' back to 'start' again, no splash screen, game screen or anything, no error message... just a milli second of the start box from steam

Please run a verify of the game files via Steam client to first make sure the update installed properly.

After reading this thread, I also checked my local files, not that it belongs to me like @Schnabelschweinchen and lo and behold, 2 incorrect files had to be requested.
The game starts, but my video settings are gone and they cannot be set again.
I have a 21: 9 (3440x1440) monitor, because I make recordings for YouTube and use OBS, I play in window mode 1920x1080 and this cannot be restored. A new game is out of the question as I upload a daily update to YouTube.

how did you saw, the game requested the wrong files?

did now the verification too, no diffrents

Yes, I got the message "2 defective files will be requested", was also visible under Downloads, that a few KB were loaded, but the German language is no longer available.

but it said its A O K for me

Do you have Windows 7? I had to use the "Patron_WIN7.exe". Launches fine that way.

The game today probably has a "life of its own",
suddenly the button to select the language is there again.
Up until today's update, it went really smoothly, even though I am playing on the Windows 11 Insider Build.

WOW... that was the problem... this is more then silly...

i just bought the game and i hit play and nothing happens i actually have no access to any of the buttons, options , exit, manual , dlc, all buttons do nothing

what buttons? i have no idea what you talk about

if you are also win7, right click the gameicon in the game lib > manage > browse local files and there should be the win 7 executable

I have the same problem, the game worked perfectly before, i have win 10 btw
