Loyalty Important or not?
Probably jumping the gun as I am still in the early stages of learning this game but does Loyalty have that much of an impact? I ask the question because in some of the Event popups some of your choices play on loyalty to the King, either positive or negative at times, I noticed on one of the demand choices it said "we are independent" and we're not doing that. I clicked it and loyalty dropped like 15 points. I understand that some citizens will always hold some loyalty to the King or to their homeland but are your new settlers setting up a independent country or just a new settlement for the King? My loyalty is still in the 80's and I haven't seen anything negative happening in my town. Is it really a concern one way or the other? Does it have an effect on your Events?

I look at the options and if loyalty stays above 70 I'll consider it being fine. I think the less unloyal you get, the harsher, if not more, demands you get.

I really love the shady pirate traders. Wish they were more common.

I think if it goes low enough, the king won't give you resources anymore, can up the tax on trade or forbid trading all together.

Haven't seen it myself, just heard. I'm sure someone can correct me if im wrong.

Loyalty is the most abstract issue, but it does have an impact, and yes, a lot of it impacts events.

As I noted in another thread however, social issues, their dynamic and "impact" will receive changes and tweaks. Seeing them develop in this number of sessions... not pleased with them. They need a bigger oompf and more ways to affect them.

Thank you all for the replies. In the back of my mind I kind of guessed this might effect events to some extent. Guess time will tell if I end up being the King's right hand man or dealing with all out rioting in the streets :)

To the Developer- I am thoroughly enjoying this game to this point. Doesn't appear to be a city builder that in a few hours you are left with "now what"? This game gives you some type of measure as in goals, accomplishments and rewards/failure. Not one of those "get enough houses and food, survive a couple of winters and congrats you won".

Now if I can just get my GPU temps back down to earth. Thanks again.
