Got Wood?
I believe this is an issue with balancing but want to make sure it is not just me.

Does anyone have an issue with wood and coal supplies? I have something like 8 Foresters sitting smack in the middle of the most fertile land in the game. They can't keep up with the planting and the cutting. They say 500+ wood per year which means I should be bringing in 40k a year, which is 1000's per month. The game takes that alone in firewood and building. The larger I grew, the harder it is to keep up with wood. Even with importing non stop, no go. I finally resorted to setting them all to plant and manually harvesting them every few minutes when the map fills up again.

Anyone else having wood issues?

I do trade for it. Iam using some forresters in early years.

After researching harbor -> more auto-trade for wood.

Same problem with pretty much every product. I'm lucky to get 50% of projected production. Does some one have a solution?
Wait, does land fertility affect foresters??? Hold up, I gotta check this. 0o

Land fertility affects how fast the trees grow, which affects output. Even taking that into account, you will likely end up just buying lumber since you need so much and Foresters are still too slow. I just have two harbors dedicated to importing lumber and keep it at 10,000.

Foresters are better used for planting to improve gatherer, herbalist, and hunter output. I only use them to grow trees, not cut.
Neat, I learned something new. But I do wish these things were mentioned in-game, just like the little animal dens with hunter efficiency if another user I asked was correct.

I found it more productive to set the foresters to plant only and use the workers to cut. Its manually time consuming to keep checking in on it though. I have about 12 foresters now, fully upgraded.

How do you lock the coal for tool production?

Answering my own question here ;-). In Inventory click “coal” and click the lock icon next to the cap limiter.

You added an extra zero; 8 x 500 = 4,000 (not 40,000). That is more like 330 per month.
