HOMMV: HoF Does not work

I saw another user posted something similar but I thought I'd repost without the "ALL CAPS" douchery.

I can install the original HOMMV with no issues (I own them all on Steam) and Tribes of the East will work as well. However after installing HoF and then running the game in steam it briefly shows I am running the game (the friends list turns green) but then goes back to blue with nothing happening.

Another thing I noticed is that when downloading the game after hitting about 80% the download constantly stops and starts until it finishes. Something is definitely broken

It looks like I can get it running by going into the game directory and running H5_game.exe

I'm having the same trouble also. Things that haven't worked (so far): offline mode, big picture mode, delete and reinstall, reboot, submit support ticket (ongoing work in progress).

H5_game.exe got me an error, missing a .dll

Some of you guys could also have a look at my method for getting past the initial launch/intro of the game (works for the complete HOM&M5 frenchise).
Note: This does not fix other related issues mentioned above such as missing a dll. etc
