Gawd, I love this game. I'm so obsessed. I must be stopped.

Within 2 days of my first session, I clocked in over 20 hours of playtime. I can't remember the last time I was so immediately sucked into a game. Usually I'm hesitant to try sandbox/building games because I get overwhelmed by the amount of freedom you're given with few assignments. MFL hits just the right spot for me and is almost like an action/adventure RPG minus the combat (at least for now). The constraints you start off with ease you into the mechanics, while the task-based gameplay loop pushes you to experiment and refine strategies. Progression feels almost like leveling up new skills in an RPG, and it's incredibly satisfying to earn new "powers" after finishing a particularly difficult task. The ease of reconfiguring your rover is also like changing classes or respecing.

The visuals are stunning, and the art style is charming. It's impressive that a game set on Mars manages to not make you feel stranded in a desolate wasteland of endless red dust. Seeing those cute little guys in the space suits helps keep the mood light, as do those delightful tracks that occasional start playing. I seriously start bopping whenever I hear that funky synth.

The amount of content right now is well worth the price, but it's even better knowing there's much more to come. I can't wait to see what's in store!

A fun vehicle building game with occasionally repetitive challenges and frustrating terrain obstacles. Overall I enjoyed it and the achievements match progression well.

I'm loving this game and the positive comparisons I'm seeing to Besiege, LEGO, etc. For me the best connection I see is to the legendary Spore creature stage: exploring a challenging world, acquiring new parts, and most importantly evolving your creation to accomplish more complex tasks. Sometimes this takes the form of specialization, developing a brand new build that is extremely effective at meeting a single task. More often than not, I iterate on one build through multiple tasks, taking what worked well in past and adapting it for the present challenge. It's been fun to see how far the foundation of one design can go and just as fun to throw everything away and start fresh. Current challenge: trucking around as many objects as possible. Such a perfect combination of creativity, exploration, and efficiency. Keep at it Ian and all at Shape Shop!

I love this cute little game. On the surface the artwork is pretty and you get to build silly useful things and do jumps of ramps. But in reality you flex your visual-spacial thinking and test how well you understand the laws of physics....well at least pseudo-martian physics.

Super fun, importantly the physics are pretty good, and the variety of parts, landscapes and tasks makes for a lot of content.
