In over 40 years of computer gaming, never had the need for a game controller. But your game looks interesting enough, that I need to seriously consider that piece of hardware.
I have the Xbox Series X Wireless Controller and the Rover controls perfectly with it. The controller was recognized immediately without me having to set anything in the game. Game Controllers 101: Gave myself a quick intro and decent ones seem to be in the $70 to $140 (US) price range. Not denouncing all brands, but these seem to have the least compatibility problems ... if any.
