We understand your concerns about our timeline and trustworthiness, and we'd like to clarify our current position and history to give you better insight into our approach.
Since becoming an independent studio, 9 lives has been building on the experience of former Gameboom VR developers. Under our previous name, we released well-received titles like Thief Simulator VR (PCVR) and Cooking Simulator VR (PCVR, Quest, Pico, PSVR 1 & 2). Into The Darkness VR is being developed by Cosmos Games, with our studio playing a critical role.
The development of Into The Darkness VR has indeed taken longer than anticipated, but this is due to our significant expansion of the game’s scope. Our commitment is to produce a high-quality title, and playtests have consistently reinforced our confidence in the game. Our experience, along with the trust we've earned through previous successes (including nominations and wins in the Steam VR Game of the Year category), has allowed us to invest the necessary time and resources to make Into The Darkness VR truly exceptional.
The ongoing playtests show that the game is progressing. We’re also excited to introduce a Sandbox Mode soon, addressing feedback from our players to ensure a well-rounded final experience.
We take Shigeru Miyamoto’s words to heart: “A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever.”
