WHAT ORDER TO DO THE REGIONS IN?
So as the title says. I'm curious as to which counties you're supposed to do in order. I keep looking online but all the information is from the early access so it doesn't talk about the newer areas added.

Basically, I'm around level 8 with most of my mercs and about to finish the swamp area with the mosquitos and zombies and stuff. I think it's the Ludern Region. Anyway, Where should I go next? what is recommended? I did Tiltren and Cortia and Marheim areas. So...whats next? and whats after that? A little help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm around the same point as you, but a zone count behind... so far I've done Tiltren, Marheim and about 60% through Drombach, but one of the quests there requires travel to other zones to complete (and seems to hold up the zone storyline). At the moment I'm facing having to buy a border passage to get to another area, then come back to Drombach.

So unless you've got all the cave(s) explored for the Legendary Creatures quest, I'd say anything but Dromback :)

Tiltren
Arthes
Vertuse
Ludern
Grinmeer
Drombach

Is the canonical order for region locked. Because, for reasons that escape all logic, the devs decided to let you do them in almost any order, but hard coded the difficulties of the regions in a fixed order (when the sensible thing would to have the difficulty be based on the order in which you chose to visit those regions).

Note that Vertuse and Arthes have almost the same difficulty enemies, so swapping that order is not a biggy. Similarly, Grinmeer is only a bit harder than Ludern in terms of battles (easier for everything else IMO), so it's not impossible to swap those around. But I wouldn't do bigger changes than that unless you're *really* prepared for large numbers of very strong enemies.

Would have been nice if Arthes and Vertuse were closer on the map, so you could do the two together. Completing one and then going to the other means you're overleveled for the other one. I chose to skip Vertuse cause I was overleveled, and went straight for Ludern.

Presumably this doesn't apply if you're playing "adaptive" mode?

Yea, adaptive has +2 to enemy parties level regardless of the region. It's called free exploration mode.
