Your Ideal Starting Squad Comp (should full custom be an option?)
What would your ideal starting four be?

I try to pick the classes that benefit the most from customization. Some of them are Ferraris, if you fine tune them they're great, but if they have the wrong traits they're a liability.

I'm also curious about everyone's thoughts on whether a full custom squad should be an option from the start of the game. On one hand, I feel like the starting sets have a bunch of random fat in them. Everyone has a brute, which from a stats and thematic perspective seems like the first random you'd hire in a bar. Archer/Ranger/Spearmen seem to serve mostly the same purpose, damage without engagement, however you choose to employ the skills, yet they overlap in almost every group.

On the flip side, the thing that has me continuing to play and start new games is trying to get the one perfect find to complete my crew, so maybe starting off with a rounded crew would wring the magic out of the game.

My best start was 1 Sword, 1 Brute, 1 Ranger and 1 Lancer. Looked for critical and lower wage people (was before you could pick)Started buying goods in Stromkapp and selling them to the Merchants right outside. Bought Chains and sold some bandits. Roped some wolves. and was up to 15 Mercs and 5 animals and 10 ponies. good run.

Did you drop a starting merc because they died or dismiss them on purpose?

Its been a bit since I played but I like the err forgot which starting comp name it is but its the one with the:
Spearman - spearthrower and damage dealer
Swordswoman - 1 hand shield (party buffer and leader)
Axeman - 1 hand shield berserker?
Brute - 1 hand shield

Those are my fav 4 characters - so why not start with them :)
