Waitress Bug Issue

Hello! Bought game over a week ago and it has worked wonderfully until today. For some reason my waitresses on the second floor stopped doing food orders. The next day in game I swapped the waitresses around and now none of them are taking orders or serving food. I restarted the game and am still having this issue.

I had this happen too. Eventually I gave up and started again. When it happened, previously, with my Chefs I ended up sacking them and replacing them. I should have tried this with the waiting staff, but, at the time I was feeling crotchety. I find it really disconcerting that staff start at such high wages and can be brought into line by slowly reducing their pay. But at the stage where I lost my rag I had enough income to easily cover the extra expense.

You could try rearranging the furniture. Somewhere I read that this can fix the issue with chefs, but, I have not tried it.

The crazy thing is that it happened out of the blue, I did work on the third floor (which is just a hotel) and this issue came up. I tried moving the first issue waitress to the first floor along with her priorities and she still didn't do anything. Then moving any waitress up to replace her, got the same issue. After that day none of the food waitresses worked. I fired them all and hired one to work only food on the second floor to see what she does. The new staff didn't do anything again. I rearranged the furniture and still no fix. I'll just create a new game and be sure to save more often so if this happens again I can try to avoid it. Thank you!

Sorry I could not be more help. I have been trying to play on with this game but ,can't give a logical reason why except. I hate defeat. I hope your new play through will be better. I save every night before clicking for "next day" and I exit to the main menu at least five days as I know of other games where bugs increase in severity and quantity over time. Exiting to the main menu clears cache which reduces file corruption. Your description sounds to me like corruption more than a regular bug. Corrupt files are always fatal in my experience.

Yep - and the same with at least a dozen of my other games. Shame programmers today don't seem to have the same pride in perfecting their work as once they did before Alpha's, Beta's and Early Access became the normal. As far as I can tell no modern games are ever truly finished they get to a certain point and the developers say something along the lines of "what the heck we can make more money from more saps who will pay again if we ditch this and start something else!"

(Hey, let's think ourselves well served, by today's standard - at least this game is playable, even if not recommendable, bugs and all. Some Early Access games are no more than the germ of an idea and that is all you ever get. I know; "Your own fault" - of course!)
