i hope there is an endgame dungeon mechanic (generating random maps) where we can keep on grinding.

From what I understand from the Dev's a while back when this question was asked, you could finish the Main Story, and still continue to play doing Side Missions, Raise Your Level, Extend/Modify Your Base & Explore.

I played the Demo for about 16 hours, and reached level 16. Mostly I just wanted to explore the map as much as I could.

So I guess the hours of playtime is really up to the individual.
