Personally, i always buy Digital Eclipse collections not for games themselves, but for thing that they do the best - gorgeous museum section with art, interviews, information, etc.
Though i wouldn't say i had as much problems with controls as you, but yeah, it (snk 40 anniv) runs far from perfect.
Either the purchasing system is busted, or they straight up lied about how you'd be able to buy the games. Dunno why that's so hard for the apologists to understand.
2- You cant bought games separatly (I have the Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle and is so stupid have repeat games in different packs)
there is only one problem i have with this collection so far which is with other collections of such kinda nowadays the same which is that if feels a bit from the lazy side.
Back in the day, i had Capcom generations on my PS1 and there they added all cheats and alternative music for some of the games to play - you know, "little goodies" i would say.
Sure, you have now the rewind thing literally EVERY classic game collection has but as for anything else, its literally as barebones as it can get. "Here, have our old games. freaking play them". I mean in older collections you could even read about the games - like as sample vulgus which is basicly the first game capcom created. Here? Rewind opinion and some vitual arcade looks, thats all.
I mean yea, those are nice but why are devs do something like that?
The best sample for such collections would be the actual Namco Museums vol. 1-5 on PS1. THOSE were GREAT made. It felt like youre really walking in a "museum" made for this games where you got background infos about the game, history, buildup, spritework, artwork, concept, music, soundtest, the freak do i know i could count up here! And now? Look at Namcos "museum" collections now. freaking barebones.
Srsly to say, i dont understand why they putted so much effort into this old collections just to end up with nowadays collections which are basicly "legal roms" of their old games and nothing else...
It was years before it was in the state it is now it was not like that on release.
Didn't they have separate purchases YEARS BEFORE they added workshop mumbojumbo?
They were orginally sold in compilations of about 5 or so games pre steam as far as pc cd releases. Unfortunately the steam release dosent have the old shinobi 2 where the game had all the copyrighted "like: charcters like the old compilations.
As far as the steam yes it is now has (or had I havent checked in nearly half a decade) however there were also multiple games that had to be bought separate or had separate pricing (which eventually largely changed).
Around 2016 ish they added the 3d room and alot of the fancy options and largely finished fixing various issues.
Of course games here have a listing price and likely arent listed due to an error (hence why the store page is "odd") so I imagine they will be on the page in the near future.
