Please add windows 7 compatibility.

I own a windows 10 pc.
I own a windows 7 pc.

I HATE my windows 10 pc and use my win 7 computer far more because win 10 is just so awful. Im not the only one who thinks win 10 is very bad and is still using an earlier or alternative operating system. Would it be overly difficult to add this support?

Windows 7 is dead and has been for nearly five months, nobody's going to support it in 2021 and onward. That's just how it's going to be.

You're just flat out wrong. I've used my VR hmd on my win7 pc, all kinds of VR software that runs just fine in Win7, im playing Halo Mcc everyday on my windows 7 pc, numerous Unreal Engines runs on win 7, game and non-game software developers already are supporting it and will continue to.

7 is only dead to microsoft because they want to move on to the thing that will make them money, even if its lousy software that nobody likes, such as win 8 and win 10, and junk hardware like the xbox 360 that had massive failure rates.

Something is not dead just because official updates are not being released anymore. Just look at TF2.

Guy, Windows 7 came out almost 12-years-ago. Microsoft offered everyone on Windows 7 and 8, FREE upgrades to Windows 10. Free. Let's try that again - FREE. One more time: free.

So you can keep playing in pretend imagination land where your alternate reality is a "real" thing, but at some point you're going to have to make the jump from an OS that isn't officially supported anymore to the one that's been the main for the last 6-years.

This is just like when everyone was crying about having to migrate from Windows XP to Windows 7. You're so scared of letting go of your comfort blanket because you're too lazy to learn a new OS.

All this "Windows 10 is junk" propoganda is peddled by lazy people who can't be BOTHERED to set up Windows 10 properly, it takes 2 minutes to get it working pretty close to how Windows 7 operates, without any of the bloatware or data collecting stuff. I turned all that off and streamlined the entire Windows 10 OS. Because I'm not clinging onto a 12 year old OS.

Things like Direct X 12 Ultimate are NOT supported on Windows 7 so any game that uses that feature set won't be appearing on Windows 7, ever. Capcom didn't support Windows 7 because there's only about 4% of the Steam user base on that OS compared to 89% on Windows 10 as of February 2021.

There is nothing here that really *demands* win10 technically, though. It's not modern aaa 3d game with dx12 or rtx.

The OS survey is optional and not an accurate poll of actual OS users. Global use based on more scientific analytics puts Win 7 users around at least 100 million, closer to 10% of global Windows PC users.
