Firstly Huntfeast does look good graphically (although there are a decent amount of unity assets involved) and it runs really well. Sadly that's the most praise I can really give it. Huntfeast is extremely user unfriendly. From little things like sound being restricted to one slider so music and footsteps are quiet yet a flare going off 200 metres away is about 200 decibels louder than anything else to the iron sights not lining up properly.
You cannot customise you key binds either.

Oh but you do get experience and skill points... however it doesn't tell you how to use them or what they are used for. Huntfeast could do fun but at this price point it should be so much better than it currently is.

So, I played this game for only an hour and I'm certain I've seen almost everything there is allready. I did buy it since I like werewolf games and wanted to give it a chance. Though I can allready say that the cons outweight the pros.

Pros:
- Okay-ish graphics; While not super pretty its decent enough. Textures are sometimes very detailed and sometimes very lowres. Lots of light effects let it look pretty.
- Ambience; While stalking through the forest the ambience is great. Its dark and foggy and the soundscape is okay aswell (though it needs some mayor work aswell)

Cons:
- UI; Its simplistic, while that is not always a bad thing here it is. The games doesnt tell you much about anything and how to do anything, sure you can look up the somewhat 15 keybindings there are but those are not helpfull and you cant reasign keys. Especially that you gain Exp and skill points but theres absolutley no trace of how and where you can use them is quite frustrating. Also, the quest description always tell you what is happening before its happening so you basicly get spoilerd by the game itself.
- AI; Not really an AI. Everything either charges at you in a straight line and you can avoid the attacks by side stepping or they stand around and fire some kind of projectiles which, as well, you just easily side step from.
- Difficulty; If you keep your eyes open and use your ressources (only Bullets and Bombs which you get from the same source and meat which you hunt deer for) from which theres more than enough, the hard difficulty comes mainly from the enemies doing a lot of damage. (Especially if they dont have footstep sounds and sneak up on you and kill you before you can react.) An improvement would be to enhance the hit indications on the player so you know better from and when you get attacked. Also you are the fastest creature in the game, you can always run away in a straight line and nothing gets you, also fitting that you have unlimited stamina to run away so that takes away a huge aspect of dread and stress. Stamina would have been great to make things a bit more challenging or speed up the cratures.
- Audio; Well, you only got 1 slider for all the sounds and those are not at the same level. For example, a flare is gonna kill your ears, same for the f***ing birds which scared the living s*** out of me because of how loud they are after walking in total silence through the forest... only jumpscare I had in this game. Sound varity would be neat aswell. The sounds from alot of the creatures loop so fast it sounds ridiculous and breaks alot of the immersion... its kinda funny actually. And some notes you find get read out by a text-to-voice machine. I laughed so hard when that happend.
- Animations; While not terrible most look clunky and out of place for some of the creatures like how the werewolfs run etc. That on 4 jumping-walk mix looks really weird up close and some of the creatures just weirdly bend theire limps with recycled animations. Also first person animations look really weird sometimes, especially melee attacking looks ridicoulous since you'll see your character is not actually griping his gun.
-Map: While pretty big and has alot of different places to check out there are plenty of spaces where you can see through the map and places enemies cant follow your path... like small stones... seriously.

I really wanted to like this game, but the devs definetly need to work on pretty much all the aspects of the game. Im a huge nerd for everything fantasy and werewolfs and s*** and thought that I could get some enjoyment out of this game If I go in with a low expectation. But after playing only for an hour I can say: dont buy the game just yet. It needs a huge load of pollish and I hope the devs work out some of the stuff me and others mentioned. Adding a PvPvE mode right now seems like the least vaiable course right now.

Anyway, Im gonna pour some more time into this game to update this review. Sorry for the bad englisch fellers.

I see the potential, and I really like the overall aesthetic/theming. But without some simple quality of life features (like having to restart all the way at the base camp after traveling super far, and only one overall audio slider option) and with lackluster gameplay/huge difficulty spike, I think this was released a bit too early and for way too much. Also, the unbalanced audio involving the "jump scares" killed my ears.

It's been 1 year, and no information on this "complete game overhaul" I think it's safe to say the game has been abandoned. It was fun to play I really liked this concept, but you can find better else where.

This game is early access as of right now, and has a way to go, but what is in place now is a TON of fun! My biggest gripe is only one friend can join, actually. The story is a great start, the enemies are really well done, and the wolves especially look good. I'm honestly really excited to see what is added later on!

I was lucky to review this game on early acces. I really loved the darkness and horror Vibes in the 1600's.
The game is fun & action packed with a few jump scares.
I can see this evolve into a true co-op masterpiece.

The games simple, clean and minimalist production quality are by far it's greatest assets both visually and audibly, it's gameplay mechanics however require some serious maintenance and overhaul work before I would even consider this game actually completable.
