This game was recommended to me by a friend of mine and since it was free I decided to give it a shot. It's a short game, well worth it's non-existant price tag. I used to be big into these RPG maker games back in I think 2014. I used to follow a youtuber named Strihiryu who'd play them all the time, the gateway games that got me into this genre were IB, the Crooked Man and of course, Ao Oni. And you can see influences from all three in Ann, in a good way! It reminded me of the power the RPG maker software has to allow a small dedicated team or even a single guy to easily make a great game with a great story. I must say, experiencing the story of Ann got me inspired to try and make my own RPG maker style game! It probably won't be as good as Ann or any of it's aforementioned predecessors, but it'll be a good creative journey!

I'm currently trying to 100% the game by getting all of the achievements, I'm a bit of an achievement hunter.

Since I'm writing this I'd also like to point out some flaws in Ann, these are completely subjective and shouldn't be taken personally.

The principal was a scumbag and he definitely earned his fate, but I feel like black and white vengeful ghost stories are a bit bland. 'Someone wronged me, I must drag them to hell and make them feel the pain I suffered.' There is some potential for exploring alternatives, like getting the principal arrested and having Hana move on knowing justice has been served, making her realise that taking things into her own hands and letting her emotions dominate her isn't always good as seen by how she confronted the principal instead of just handing the recording over to the police. Maybe getting the principal to go through character development and realize how his lust and anger causes problems not only for himself but for the people around him as well, nobody is beyond saving. The principal instead just felt like a standard one note bad guy who gets his just deserts in the end and there could have been room for something more in-depth to take place here.

I'm trying to grasp for any other flaws but I can't think of any that come to mind right now honestly. Maybe some minor nitpicks could be found if I dug deep enough but other than that, it was a great experience!

Big shoutout to the person who made the animated cutscenes, they looked fantastic and definitely added to the experience!

Reminded me of the game ib when I started (which was one of the few games I first played) so I loved it. The art is so nice! The challenges are fun. I can tell a lot of effort was put into this game!!
