AC1 Kingdom flag in Roman Ruins on the high pillar
Hi guys, the famous flag is a problem to get. I have catch ledge ability and I am using it when jumping from rooftops. But the problem is that when I jump from that high pillar I seem to hit an invincible wall and cannot reach the pillar with the flag?

Does anyone else have that problem or even better, a solution to that problem?

The jumping is apparently limited by FPS, which is why V-Sync worked previously, but if you run the game in >60 FPS make sure you limit this to 60 FPS or below in the graphic options as well as turning V-Sync on.
This will enable you to get all the way to the pillar following the right steps.

You can get it when you progress and learn to grab edges.

I have heard that you can hit Alt + Enter to enter Window mode to fix the invisible wall issue. I've also heard you can hit Shift + Tab to bring up the Steam menu, then go back to the game. Neither worked for me.

After searching long and hard, I found this thread http://steamcommunity.com/app/15100/discussions/0/846965882681265985/ which fixed the issue for me. If you have an NVidia card you need to manually set the Vsync to ON for the game. I saw three settings of AC1 in the menu, so I set them all to ON.

I have NVidia card.. and I think I have all the settings set on ON. I tried to use the lowest graphic settings and turn everything off, that didn't help.

Later I missed one templar so I thought I'd skip collecting everything and left the flag and completed the game :p

but thanks for that tip, I'll see if I missed anything and if it can be resolved

You indeed have to turn the Vsync on, if you hope to reach that flag.

I'm wondering if it's just a timing issue where players are a bit keen to press the grab-ledge key. Hopefully, delaying the grab until close to the pilar will give more success as I'm sure I've failed to grab things by pressing too early.

I'd hate to think it's to do with the vsync setting, but sadly I know of other games where the setting can determine succuss or failure of mission.

*It is* Vsync related. I tried to reach the flag a hundred times and fell at least two meters short every ♥♥♥♥♥♥ time.

Then I turned Vsync on and got it on my first attempt. Without Vsync, your jump will lose all momentum after a couple meters, and Enzio will just fall vertically like a brick, no matter how you jump or when you use the grab-ledge ability. It looks like he hits an invisible wall while mid-air.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I've never seen a more justified old thread necro.

however.

DUDE...I think you saved me lot of frustration and time. I was trying for like 15-20 minutes before admitting that this is just not going to work... I found your information within 2 minutes of googling, got the flag on first attempt with frame rate limit... Il Mentore bless ya :steamhappy:

Hello Lone Rider, thanks for letting us know that this player's advice still works in the game now.

In general, we advise running our older games at no greater than 60FPS and enabling Vsync when you have the option, as you may encounter input lag or your actions no registering correctly in the game, as the game was originally designed to run at these frames. This can sometimes affect our older AC and Prince of Persia games.

I just can't. I have vsync on and this pillar is just unreachable. I've tried like 50 times already.

For those of you who are still trying, I couldn't get it until I had it set to 60 hz, Vsync on, windowed mode, AND instead of running and jumping, climbing down and doing a back jump onto the pillar. Drove me batty for a solid hour.
