the higher level the enemy is, the faster they trace you, so you need even more bounces.
So you go to the phone directory, and add all the servers you can find to you list. Then you make a bounce route with all of them, with the first one through internic, so you can easily remove your ip after each hack.
as long as you have a long bounce list, and you always delete your internic history after each hack, you should never be captured.
also, you can log off before they complete the trace, and delete the internic history, and retry again.
Go to InterNIC and type in "Public". Add EVERYTHING that pops up. Disconnect and enter the connection screen. Start with InterNIC and then connect through all the public servers you just added. I'm not sure if this helps, but long connections (like from Australia to Canada) might give more time than short links (like from Japan to Russia) do. When you've made a 20 connection chain, save it. It saves a lot of time than constantly making new chains each time you connect to a target. It helps to make InterNIC and the Uplink Internal Services links different colors to save time later on in the game. As you discover new links, add them to your chain.
Also, ARC have access terminals that pretty much exist to be bounced through. Add them to your chain.
search for "services" servers and add them all and hack the admin account on each of them and ofcourse delete the logs. this way it should show a rectangle around the box on the world map because u have admin access and admin accounts take much longer to trace you when bounce through those. public access servers dont allow logons so its pretty useless to bounce through them
Other then InterNic as your first route, the actual servers you route though are entirely irrelevant. I've not noticed any difference in time between servers. Distance between jumps does seems to make a minor difference, but the most important is the amount of jumps.
Generally the first thing I do when starting a game is hit up the directory listings in InterNic, create a 50-70 jump chain (with InterNiC as my first jump obviously) and save it. I then just load that up before every hack, add the final destiation to the end and away we go.
As soon as you complete your hack, reconnect direct to InterNic and wipe logs. And remember to leave your log in log, as otherwise you get traced due to the logs at InterNic being suspicious. Remember, simply logging onto InterNic is not illegal or suspicious. Unless the only record of you on it is logging out. Doesnt take a genious to work out that if your only leaving a diisconnect, your tampering with the logs.
