Monitor bypass not working as advertised.

So I bought the Monitor Bypass version 5 (and the HUD connection upgrade too)

I thought this thing was supposed to prevent active traces from happening when I drag and drop it onto the Monitor of the enemy computer.

And yet, 90% of the time (it worked perfectly only once), the active trace still happens. The only difference is that it happens AFTER the password is cracked and not during the crack.

This might have gotten me in hot water in one of the story missions where I was supposed to pull off a perfectly "silent" insertion job. Because the monitor kicked in, it seems that the company in question noticed something was up, even though they don't know what it is yet. >: (

And the trace goes off EVERY time (minus one time)! I open the HUD connection analyser, wait for it to detect where the monitor is, plug the bypasser onto the Monitor node, and crack in...and then the trace goes off.

What am I doing wrong?

Nothing.

The Monitor Bypass goes off at the following times for the systems:

ISMs - Upon login
Government - Upon login of ADMIN ACCOUNT ONLY
CM - Upon breaking of password
Banks - Upon login of BANK ADMIN ONLY
LAN - Upon connection to Main Server

Oh. So depending on the system I'm attacking, the trace will begind regardless after a certani point?

Good to know.

When that happens, should I turn it off to save on CPU power?
