I've been working on a few of my Steam guides, and have made a few allusions to Onlink. Soon, I'm thinking about making a guide showing how things are different from Uplink along with my other guides.
I'm one of the two devs for Onlink itself. Feel free to poke me over chat or something if you want to confirm something or anything.
Funny how I never thought to look at the forums or anything in all these years.
I'm interested, but I'd first like to know what it does before I download it.
Edit: and I read on the last page of the forum topic you linked; that it's causing hardware problems for computers with HDD's. Has that been fixed yet? I don't want my computer to get damaged.
It won't "damage" your computer. When we say hardware problem, we just mean that there are cases were the game and the hardware don't get along, and the game crashes as a result.
And on that note, its SSD's where its having problems.
Ah, okay.
I'll try it out sometime in the nearby future then. ^^
The posts in this forum have focused only on your edit. I'd like to elaborate more on the new features.
The passwords are longer, there are more people in the game now (ladies!), new security systems, new mission types, a new (optional) storyline, new hardware, gateway modifications, more strategies to use with more tools in your HUD, and new systems make Onlink.
Once I get around to having some free time, likely next week, I'll brush up on my guides and start putting a few parts together for an Onlink Guide.
You are? Why such hostility on threads like this then? http://www.ferrousmoon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=2905 It is a singleplayer game, why not help the poor guy out?
I will admit. Miah is not the most..... diplomatic of people. And to be fair, the message was "hey, no, there are no cheat codes for onlink".
The rest of thread was ragging on some guy who thought hexadecimal was a coding language, which to be fair, is a rather silly thing to think.
I can also understand that you as a dev made the mod with a certain game design and gameplay in mind, but that shouldn't mean people who wish to play it differently shouldn't be thought as some...I don't know, bad?
Oh, that was less the issue with this guy. It was mostly that he had already nagged me directly in a PM for the same information.
Then he starts demanding it in a thread and saying that we have it and it just tell him, which still isn't the case, as badly as he might want it to be true.
So I opted for the completely unambiguous one word reply.
Of course he kept going anyway.
We have a bug tracking system you can use to report these on. Please make a detailed report of the problem.
