have you tried cracking the username and password for it again? Regulars systems in the game changes bother username and password after being attacked.

How to crack it?

Your Uplink login information will not give you access to other systems. You must break their security - and here's how.

First, you need some tools. Here's pretty much what the Tutorial program tells you to do.

Grab yourself a Password_Breaker v1.0 (1500c) and a Trace_Tracker v2.0 (600c) from the Software Upgrades form the Uplink Internal Services System (ISS). Run the Trace_Tracker. It should open a little rectangle at the lower right corner of the screen.

Now, disconnect from ISS and click on the world map. You should see a map with little squares and stuff on it. It doesn't matter what order you select them in, as long as it looks like this:

Gateway -> InterNIC (STRONGLY SUGGESTED it be second) -> Uplink International Bank -> Uplink Public Access Server -> Uplink ISS -> Uplink Test Machine (MUST be last)

This will bounce your connection from your gateway, through all of those points, and then connect to the Uplink Test Machine. Don't forget to hit save at the bottom of the map to save your connection path.

Once connected to the Uplink Test Machine, and after making sure you have your Trace_Tracker up, run the Password_Breaker program and select the password box. You should start hearing beeps from your Trace Tracker. The more annoying it gets, the closer your trace is to completion. Don't forget to speed up the the Password_Breaker by hitting the right arrow key under the colored bar for the Password Breaker (the one that says CPU).

Once there's a code for the admin in the box User: Admin Pass: rosebud, then login.

From here, you run your FIle_Copier on Uplink Test Data and open your memory banks and select an empty slot to copy it over.

This is a basic mission in Uplink. Do keep in mind that your bounce path leaves your final incriminating log at InterNIC, so when you do real missions don't forget to delete two logs after EVERY mission:
  • Connection from 127.0.0.1 routed to [Second IP Address]
  • Password authentication accepted: From 127.0.0.1

And that's how you crack the Uplink Test Machine, and How To Manipulate a Single FIle.

I had that problem... knew the code and wouldnt work and it didnt change but still even if you know what the code is sometimes you need to crack it.To crack it use the password software on the log in box when nothing has been entered in it

Hi

Gateway -> InterNIC (STRONGLY SUGGESTED it be second) -> Uplink International Bank -> Uplink Public Access Server -> Uplink ISS -> Uplink Test Machine (MUST be last)

I can't see the Uplink Test Machine
I bounce from one point to the other, save the connection, then disconnect and bounce again to the next point.I save the new connection and so on.Finally I can see all the points connected but not the final one,Uplink Test Machine.

Was doing the test and found this thread. You're not setting up the map right probs because they're tracing you immediately, connecting to the other points in the map fixed it for me
